I’ve refrained from comment here previously as I’ve been sucked into the Kickstarter frustration before but this is absurd. Either they’re a legit company that is grotesquely mismanaged or they’re a scam…that is still somehow mismanaged. There must have been better ways to fleece us if that was the intention but to think that they’ve had the product stateside this long and haven’t figured out a single way to get it backers is unbelievable. EU and Asia definitely got their rewards, so I wouldn't call them a scam. But they are mismanaged beyond belief. The fact that Alex Lim was involved the entire time and they hid it explains a lot.

I doubt anyone knew a worldwide pandemic affecting China and shipping would happen, and 5x shipping costs hit already thin margins of KS projects (which often hit losses without a worldwide crisis). Dunno if you were around during the "Ice Age Miniatures" KS, but *that* was a scam. It's actually easier to identify a scam when scammers have done other online scams. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/55475-adw-ice-age-miniatures-kickstarter/page/2/ BTW, If you notice a KS whose creator obviously (to some) doesn't know what they're talking about, that "red flag" may be "hunting for whales". A whale is someone who has money but isn't familiar enough with the business to know they're making a mistake, including someone who intentionally ignores advice from others. I think to pull off as many scams as those behind "Ice Age Miniatures", they had enough confidence (ego) that they felt they didn't need to research information accurately. I still think the Ice Age Miniatures scam actually targeted their partners as much or more than backers. Also, the Confrontation (and HeroQuest Anniversary) KS are required reading of projects with unrealistic expectations that were more like (severe) misuse of funds.
Grumpy Gnome
Mrs. GG and I backed their Fantasy 2 KS all in (including the gothic horror stuff) because we got their Fantasy 1 set on eBay and were impressed with the minis. So we will likely lose out hundreds of dollars. Sigh.
Lidless Eye
Well, they finally admitted they've been lying the last year and have racked up fees with QML they're trying to crowdfund through an already shut down GoFundMe (against TOS) Guess the rest of us are never getting our rewards, and no one is getting their next 2 or 3 Kickstarters https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blacklistgames/blacklist-miniatures-fantasy-series-1
AlonTey
Welp. There it is. I’d still pay the shipper direct to get my product but there’s not a chance that I’m giving Blacklist direct another dime. What really aggrieves me is that I was dumb enough to back Lasting Tales when this project was already starting to smell fishy. A hard learned lesson on the risks of Kickstarter and FOMO.
Adrift
I’d pay QML directly but I have zero faith in providing any additional monies to BLG directly. I just posted that they should take out a business loan from a legitimate banking institution in order to get their products released from QML and shipping. Every minute their product sits at QML, on hold, they are hemorrhaging money. But at this point I’m so cynical toward their shadiness that I’m assuming they’ll work a deal with QML at a later date to get their products released on the cheap and then begin selling them through their website and in stores. I know this…before I back any projects on KS I’ll be making sure one of the Sadler boys isn’t a part of that company’s operations.

Lidless Eye
Yeah, you can't offer rewards through a GoFundMe, they shut it down almost immediately 1
ced1106
Minky and Mister E reposted this QML Press Release in the KS comments. You can show your support on QML's twitter! : https://twitter.com/QMLogistics/status/1552394129363111937?t=VKM-NQaPTOHSC_bMmhblGA&s=19 IIRC, QML was a "spin off" of Cool Stuff Inc., an online store best known for boardgames. See the QML website. So, if anyone can handle the logistics of invoicing individual backers for the balance of their shipping fees, as well as sell any unwanted inventory and even do refunds, CSI/QML would be able to do it. Again, this wouldn't be the first time a warehouse stiffed by the creator had backers individually pay shipping fees for their stuff. Quote For those looking for Quartermaster’s official statement on the Blacklist Fantasy Series 1 campaign, you can find our official statement at the following link : https://www.qmlogistics.com/blacklist/ Stay tuned to the link provided as we’ll be updating that link as things change. We’ll also be sharing updates on our Twitter(@QMLogistics) and here on Facebook when the link has new information. Quote Press Release Regarding Blacklist Miniatures Quartermaster Logistics has been closely monitoring the recent update to the Blacklist Miniatures : Fantasy Series 1 Kickstarter Campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blacklistgames/blacklist-miniatures-fantasy-series-1/posts/3566481). There has been considerable discussion on social media outlets, and in the comments on the update and the campaign itself. There have also been several backers who have reached out to us directly with questions about the update and QML’s plans based on the information provided in the update. We are publishing this release to address our response to this situation. At this time, Quartermaster Logistics is in internal discussions with the goal of finding a solution that services all parties involved to the best of our abilities. Those include not only QML and Blacklist Games, but also the backers and supporters of the Kickstarter. This is a complex situation with contractual obligations, so while there have been several options put forth by the backers, as well as options that we’ve discussed internally with our leadership, there are some limits to what is possible within those obligations. We’re looking at all the possibilities to establish a solution that is most beneficial to everyone involved. We ask for your patience as we discuss these options. We will be posting publicly what our plans will be once they’ve been determined. Please note that it will take time for us to make and finalize those plans. We’re happy to see the enthusiasm and excitement from the supporters of this campaign and their offers and suggestions related to fulfillment. Any individual communications through either our social media or customer service outlets will be directed back to this page until we’ve decided on our plans for what’s upcoming. Once again, we thank you for your patience during this time and we’ll be posting as soon as we’ve got the plans in place. ksbsnowowl
It seems several posts got eaten in the boards malfunction this week. My post about the GoFundMe raising ~$4,500 before being shut down is nowhere to be seen. 😕 Anyway, the board editor did somehow reload the last post I submitted to this thread a couple days ago. 🤷🏼♂️ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Based on the comments overnight, it seems a fair bit of the donations were EU/UK backers that were chipping in to help the Americas, which is commendable. But anyone with skin in the game yet is a fool to trust BLG with any more money on this. According to recent comments, QML is going to post a statement to Twitter later (today?). Here’s hoping they can work on a solution that circumvents BLG entirely. I’d be okay sending ~$25 directly to QML to get these shipped out, but there’s no good will left for BLG to handle this correctly. Still expecting I’ll never see these mini’s in my hand, but if the tide somehow brings it to fruition, then I’ll be happily surprised.
Adrift
Same, I’d happily pay QML some money to ship the figures to me. But I don’t trust BLG one ounce and will not be tossing money at them. QML def doesn’t want to just have a massive pile of stock eating space in their warehouse. So I’m glad that BLG finally admitted they’re screwed so that QML’s professionals can figure out a solution with the backers.

I backed lasting tales because people were like, "Oh look we've got our miniatures!' Smart on their part sending out the least amount of miniatures they could to the smallest possible segment to showcase that it was 'done'. 2 1
1dunnj
I made the mistake of thinking that retail product in reveiwers hands ment the product existed, and didn't realize that its common for to send early production copies to reviewers to generate hype. At least there is a product, if it can't get to people. From what i understand UK and asia actually got theirs (hence a couple ebay copies floating around). I don't have high hopes for lasting tales, unless you only backed the rules with no minis. I am glad they keep saying they won't steal from other campaigns to pay for FS1, but i don't know who would work with them on distribution now, knowing that they stiff their vendors.
Adrift
Yeah, I blasted them several times for the delays to the US when all these YouTubers and ‘influencers’ seemed to have their copies to create a bunch of hype. I’m dismayed that I was right about it. I’d rather be wrong and have my figures/this done and over with.
