although (spoiler) I haven't found many scenarios that needed six of one type of miniature.

You've managed to avoid the summoning ones then.. we've run out of standees on 3 separate scenarios so far

Good point -- ugh, hope I don't have to buy another AQ pledge.

Well I've jumped on board this one. It currently sits at 107 figures for $65 for the basic 'miniatures and stretch goals' tier, which translates to about $0.60 cents a figure. And with 11 days to go I foresee it easily dropping to lower than $0.50 cents a figure. That's a good deal IMO. Especially as I'm a newcomer to the hobby of miniature collecting/painting and don't already own many of these D&D 'essentials'.

I do have two minor-ish nit-picks with some of the figures though:

1. There's something 'off' about that dragon but I can't work out what it is. Is it the large sharp ridges instead of scales? Is it the lack of detail in the wings? I'm not sure. Maybe it just has a general aura of unfinished-ness about it? Does anyone else feel that way? As it stands, it's probably the piece I'm least excited for in this Kickstarter, which no one should ever say about a dragon!

2. I hate this modern style of depicting halflings as indistinguishable from humans in any way except size (instead of the separate race that they are). I've been wanting more choices for a male halfling monk figure for forever, but I don't see myself ever using this one since it y'know, doesn't look anything like an actual halfling. I know I can't hold this company responsible for this new design abomination, but I forlornly wish they'd just ignored it and kept designing old school halflings, like Reaper does.

Other than that, I'm excited to see what else gets added to the box before the kickstarter ends.

I've backed this as well.  I've already backed Altar Quest, but this is becoming more and more a great deal, just with the base pledge.

We backed this one, the pictures of the minis from the other Kickstarter they did convinced me.

Just broke 112 miniatures with the bugbears and the wizard.

14 away from same price per mini as Altar Quest ($109 for 212 miniatures), which you can add-on to the pledge.

Comment that they may be trying to replicate the mini's you need for the D&D Essentials Kit. Works for me! : "I’m looking to get into DnD and have picked up the Essential starter box (hopefully the original starter box to follow). I’ve been going through the adventures and ticking off enemy groups that have been added as minis to this Kickstarter. It’s looking really good and I’m hoping that more of the enemies from those starter sets turn up ie Banshees, Needle/Twig/Vine Blights/Owlbears/Centaurs/Ogres/Hobgoblins/Manticore & Flameskull to name a few! I’m sure other people who have played the adventures have a better idea of what else would be needed/work."

I’ve backed, the deal is too good to ignore and if I don’t want extras I can do mods or give them to DMs who are friends of mine for their game tables.

Oh and if anyone wants an idea of the quality of the minis, our game Altar Quest (which is also available this campaign; 211 minis for $109 and a full game inside too haha) has minis from the same team and you can see what the proofs look like here:

Here are a couple of photos from the link:

One thing that is kinda keeping me from backing is that all the goblins/kobolds have the same pose amongst themselves. Has someone pledged Altar Quest? How stiff are the figures and how easy to cut apart and mod?

I'll start making calculations though, there is a lot in this box.

That's a good question to ask the creator.

Longer story is that AQ has been delayed suchthat they are able to take more orders of certain AQ products, such as the base game. (Some add-ons have been made, and those add-ons, such as dice, are not available in the FS1 KS.) However, this means AQ has not been delivered yet. BL has delivered KS before, so maybe someone who has received one of their previous games can comment. (However, I understand BL has changed game manufacturers?) FAQ says "high quality PVC plastic", but dunno if that really answers the question.

120 mini's, next SG. This KS is breaking three SG's a day on average!

Somehow the Altar Quest game has an even more interesting selection of miniatures for me personally. A harpy hero, the hog people, the frog people the crow people and bray are all stuff I don't have as many of already. And since there are multiple sculpts of each race, the duplicates are more easily disguised. I know, I could add that as an Add On ^^

This particular project just has a very good hero selection imho. They are not super out-there in terms of races, but some combinations like that female elf barbarian can be surprisingly hard to find. Or female casters wearing pants. Or a young human druid. Or that overweight mage. Really excited to see where this goes, hopefully they don't overstretch themselves. (Still a bit hung up on the duplicates though, but eh)

Am I the only one seeing some red flags from the sheer number of stretch goals they are adding?

Definitely agreed. The FS1 monsters are on the generic fantasy side, for beginners who may not have backed Bones.

Altar Quest is based on the Sandler Brother's own  RPG world, so has more unique figures.

They're passing the "2 for a dollar" point (not including shipping  including the large miniatures. They're unlocking four SG's a day, usually five mooks and three heroes.

      About
Welcome to the Great Wall draft page – the campaign is not live yet, but we will be gradually adding more and more information about the game here! We are incredibly excited to hear your feedback, so please let us know what you think. If it looks interesting to you - make sure to click the "Notify me on launch" button!
The Great Wall is a new major board game from Awaken Realms (creators of Nemesis, Tainted Grail, Etherfields and many other acclaimed products). Players will take the roles of generals of an ancient oriental empire who lead the defence against ruthless hordes. You will need to gather allied advisors, manage your workers, recruit armies and, together with other players, raise and defend the Great Wall! As the game progresses, you will often need to co-operate or negotiate with other players, but make no mistake – there can be only one winner!
This fresh worker (and soldier!) placement game for 1-4 players faces them with many difficult choices and often pushes them to interact with each other. You will be assigning your workers to eleven different locations, such as Tea House, Quarry, Messenger Post, or Barracks, using special Command cards that have additional effects. Production in locations activates ONLY when all their slots are filled, but filling them all by yourself can result in a penalty. On top of that, players can buy overseers who will give additional output every time a location becomes activated. This creates a lot of involving long- and short-term strategies.
Each player starts with one unique General, characterized by their asymmetric power, as well as the production level. From there, you will further customize your economic engine and fine-tune your strategy by recruiting advisors who provide additional bonuses.
Eventually, a Wall Defence phase beings, where players place previously build armies on Horde Cards – earning Honor (Victory points) and looting resources from the defeated troops. This requires smart management of three types of units: Archers, Spearmen and Cavalry. Players place these soldiers one by one, playing the Tactics cards that create another layer of interaction.
Gain meditation by shooting with the Zen Archer, then spend meditation on a Cavalry Squad Leader to move your Cavalry around the battlefield faster, and – finally – finish off by getting extra Honor for each of the Cavalry’s engagements thanks to the Banner Holder. There are endless possibilities for great combos and memorable plays.
On top of that, your Advisors and General might give your troops extra abilities, such as shooting twice or looting twice the resources!
All of the above makes the Great Wall one of our most strategically involving designs that will be appreciated by many different groups of players: those who love euro-styled games with their intricate economies and engine-building, those who love over-the-table play, bargaining and negotiations – and finally, those who simply like to wage war on a beautiful map.
