Murder’s Mark, Pathfinder 1e Module

Karl heartily agrees to renting a space for storytelling.  He quickly racks his brain for a good selection of stories to tell, taking into account the nationalities and history of the visitors that he has seen thus far. (Knowledge: History: 9+5=14 or Knowledge: Local 9+1=10 as applicable).  One he is brought to his space, he shucks his armored coat and sword belt, and puts on his good shirt embroidered with Linnorms.

Will get next post up hopefully tomorrow.

Aronan enters the carnival. Never been to one of these before, and I have nothing better to do, so why not. The food seems interesting, so he checks out some of the food stands. (OOC: Will post mor

In a period of 2 hours you have attracted quite a crowd.  Villagers, visitors, and carnival staff alike are drawn to your epic storytelling.

Most of the carnival traffic ceases, all gathered around your small stage.  When the time comes to an end, you receive a standing ovation.

By the time the hat has been passed around to everyone, it returns to you with 2 GP (which is extraordinary in a backwater village like this).

The owner of the carnival approaches you when everything settles down.  She is a short, dignified Varisian woman with black hair.  She wears a scarf as a hat over her head, blue with white stars.

"Greetings.  My workers tell me your name is Karl.  I am Almara Delisen, and this is my Carnival.  You have a great gift for storytelling.  Please, keep everything you have made here this afternoon, IF...you agree to come back tomorrow and do this again.  That is, if you have additional material...  Excellent work!  Now, I must be off, it is time to prepare for the main event in the Big Top."

"It is a pleasure to meet such a generous woman as yourself Almara.  Thank you for allowing to preform my craft at your spectacular carnival.  I humbly accept your generous offer to perform tomorrow; in fact here is nothing that I would like more.  And I am looking forward to the main even myself."

Karl bows and waits for Almara to leave.  Then he gathers up his gear, belting his coat about him with his sword belt and ambles in the direction of the big top.

He stood in the crowd, and listened to the storyteller for some time, waiting for the main event to begin, slender brow arching ever so slightly as he sees the woman approach, he had seen her in the crowd earlier, smiling at him when he earned his dart prize. Still, it was no matter to him who she was, or what she did, as long as it didn't involve his coin purse.

As the evening approaches, barkers begin announcing the Big Top show.  The crowds line up.  You all make your way there, pay your 5 cp for admittance, and have a seat.  Hawkers sell snacks and drink.  Almara enters as the ring master, announcing various acts of acrobatics, high-wire work, clowns, singing, storytelling, poetry recitals, animals paraded around.  Finally, after about 90 minutes, as evening is approaching, magical dancing lights fill the Big Top.  Almara announces it is time for the star attraction, Jherizhana the Beautiful.  Almara describes her as the "ferocious performing sphinx only barely held under my magical control."  She issues the sphinx commands.  It frequently breaks free momentarily to mildly terrorize the audience before Almara once again regains control of the monster.  After another 10 minutes of this finale, she ushers the gynosphinx back out of the Big Top presumably to wherever it is housed after hours.  The performers come to take bows.  The audience is generally happy with the experience.

As you all file out of the Big Top, everyone make a Perception check.

I will hand out the silvers I won in the game to lesser looking children in the crowd, 1 coin to each child & will make my way further into the carnival.

I see a crowd gathering & make my way over to see why. I catch most of the storyteller's tale & clap at the end in response to a well told tale.

Afterwards I make my way into the big top. Seeing the exotic creature & the way the ring master commands her, I'd like to make a Sense Motive check to see if her performance is true or a act (like most of the carnival).

You both get the impression that it is a well rehearsed, scripted performance.

As you exit the big top, everyone but Aronan perceive something wrong up ahead, from the direction of the zoo portion.  The mass of carnival attendees seems to be roiling up ahead.  Screaming starts.  You hear “dragon” and “run” and “help.”  From farther toward the zoo you hear “no, don’t hurt him!”

The crowd parts.  The monitor lizard is on the loose, terrorizing the crowd, looking for a meal.

Roll initiative.  Aronan will miss the “surprise round” due to the low Perception.  You’ve got about 60 feet to the lizard.  The mass of people has parted to a 20 foot wide avenue.

Here was my entry for the 16th quarterly  Reaper Facebook Contest.  I was honored to receive an honorable mention.  There were dozens of fantastic entries.
I wanted to try a white dragon coloration.  I have Deathsleet in my queue, so this is a test run.  His scales are Dragon White.  The ventral surfaces are more of a bone color with Creamy Ivory and Linen White, with Sepia Wash.
His dagger is a green NMM.  His eyes are gem-like, not lizard pupils.  The skirt completes the “triangle of interest” green color.  I rebased him on a Micro Arts 30mm Sewer base.
I had a lot of fun with this one.  I wanted to keep him as a rogue, so I chose a dagger and loot bag from his hand choices.  I also painted his armor as leather with some gold NMM.

Hello everyone, today is a Pathfinder day. I did my best to paint it as faithfully as possible respecting the original artwork colors. This is the metal version 60136, Aglanda the herald of Razmir sculpted by Bobby Jackson. It's also available in Bones plastic under sku: 89040.

Starting post for the upcoming Starfinder: Attack of Swarm pbp I will be running. I'm mainly using this to get a feel for Starfinder & such as I'm hoping to run a game or 2 at ReaperCon 2021.

      Paizo Inc.
(Part 1 of 6 Attack of the Swarm Adventure Path)
(as quoted from the Paizo product page:)
      "Suskillon Needs You!
As the ever-ravenous threat of the insectile Swarm surges across another system in the Vast, the heroes are part of the defense effort. They must fight back against waves of foes and rescue civilians, including a shirren priest of Hylax whose temple seems to be of particular interest to the invaders. By relying on their wits—and each other—the heroes just might survive the Swarm onslaught."
      Suskillon System
      The Story so far..........
It has been 6 months to the day, since the Swarm* first touched down on Suskillon in a bloody conflict named the Battle at Stone Sea. After the Swarm punched through the planet’s aerial and orbital defenses, its components landed near the Stone Sea, a large freshwater lake surrounding a dormant volcano. The Fifth Battalion of the Suskillon Defense Force (SDF**) was closest to the site of contact and held the Swarm back long enough for the SDF to mobilize other battalions to the area. Stories of the battle have already reached near-mythical heights, as most members of the Fifth Battalion were killed in glorious, terrible combat.
Since then, the SDF has fought a losing battle against the Swarm. Though Suskillon is a friendly trading partner with the Pact Worlds, the planet’s government has yet to officially request aid, with many afraid that the Pact Worlds will claim their planet as a protectorate in “payment” for such help. However, that hasn’t stopped volunteers and mercenaries from other systems (including the Pact Worlds and the Veskarium) from journeying to Suskillon to join in the fight against the invasion. The Swarm is relentless, though, and it has already overran and taken nearly half of the planet.
*The Swarm is a collective menace of sentient insect-like creature bent on expanding it's colonies by devouring anything in it's wake. The Swarm doesn't negotiate with people it just consumes it's host & whatever it's host is on. The Shirren were part of the Swarm, but during "The Gap" they were able to free themselves from it's collective mind & established their own colonies. Unfortunately, The Swarm has the ability to adapt to the challenges conquering it's foes & were able to follow the Shirren & left most of their new colonies in ruins due to the Shirren's connection with the Hylax, a divine entity the Swarm are hellbent on wiping from existence.
This also led them to come in contact with the Veskarium, the system of the military-like reptilian humanoids. The Swarm was so overwhelming that the Vesk (as their race is called) called in the Pact Worlds (home to many, but notably humans) & formed an alliance to beat back the Swarm. This has only temporarily stopped the Swarm from taking over both their worlds.
Only time will tell when that may happen........
** Suskillon Defense Force (or the SDF for short) is the military force of planet Suskillon. In the beginning it was your standard military but as the war with the Swarm has progressed, the leaders of the SDF have brought it whoever wanted to fight the Swarm. Whether or not these folk due to it for honorable reason, matters not, as the SDF needs bodies to win the war against the Swarm. So far, the war has only gone the way of the Swarm. The Fifth Battalion is the unit, you the PCs are assigned to. Welcome aboard, solider!
      The Present...
You have answered Suskillon's need for heroes & saviors, whether it was due to you were already in the SDF as career military, a merc, a prisoner whose sentence was to serve or die, or just someone who wanted to help out in any way you can, etc etc. You been enlisted into the SDF & have been asigned to the Fifth Battalion & have been sent to Camp Cavalier, a small military encampment outside the capitol city of Brinnoa. Brinnoa is located on the planet's most populated continent in the southern hemisphere. The commanding officer is Major Jaldamarrak, a Vesk with a impressive military background (feel free to give me, Culture or Profession (soldier) check to learn more about this individual).
The adventure begins in the middle of "Dead Winter", one of Suskillon's extended, extremely cold weather period. Also, much the surprise to most people, the daily attacks of the Swarm have died off, almost to a point that if not for their previous attacks & destruction, one might think they have decided to retreated & focus on some other system.
You all begin inside a room outside the commanding unit at Camp Cavalier, awaiting on when you can see the Major.

Does any one have good colors to go with Asmodeus Red from the Pathfinder line? I remember Anne said that there was something different about it but I can't remember what she said exactly or in what video. I just remember she showed a female bard when she mentioned it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the big boss of the Bones I Orc Warband.  With all of these Orcs they are shadowed with a purple color.  I added some green freckles/sun spots for a little interest.
For his shield trophies, I included some skin tones and hair colors that could represent elf, dwarf, human, goblin and undead.  The wood planks and boards on the shield are freehand.  Kavorgh got a little extra love with the bloodstain on the axe.
      WIP here:

      And the group shot.  Enjoy.
