I’ll say you can catch a second in the spell area, the one on Jandir.  The saves both fail, so they each take the three damage.  They are both still alive, but look badly wounded.  On a side note, their shells go a little more red from the heat, and you get the wonderful aroma of cooked lobster.

Since Lorak rolled higher initiative, he’s already been passed on this initiative round, but will begin round two.

Finally, is Arune going to stay prone?  You could get up, but it would provoke.

Round 2.

Scraps wakes up on his own, roll initiative.

Lorak acts first (unless scraps beats a 22, but we can RetCon that if needed).

OOC:  Whether I rise or not sort of depends on whether they get the +4 to the attack while prone when I am rising or if i can use an acrobatics check to prevent the AOO.  If either of these is true, then Ari will rise, if both are false, then he will stay down and avoid the hit, thank you very much! I may be prone, but i am no longer flat footed, correct?

Once you act in combat, you are no longer flat footed.  Ari is no longer flat footed.

If Lorak fails the roll, his sea scorpion takes an AOO and hits (18+4) and does 1 point of damage.

Lorak winds up and punches his lobster-scorpion right in the nerve cluster, killing it.

Ok.  The sea scorpions go next.

The one on Arune rolls two attacks.  Both missed.

The one on Lorak rolls two attacks.

Both missed.  It’s still alive due to decreased damage from Sickened.

The one on scraps rolls one cautionary pinch, since it doesn’t realize yet Scraps is awake.  It missed so bad it seemed to strain its pincer.

Finally, the one on Jandir  turns to attack Arune instead, since he half cooked him.  He tries to sting Arune with his stinger.  You notice it has 10 ft reach with the sting. If Arune is still prone, it hit.  If he is standing, it missed.  In either case, it did 0 damage, so no poison.

Arune’s Turn, then Scraps.

Remember, casting in melee will provoke (they were a little surprised last time that you woke up and fried them, so didn’t take it).

Given my last wishy washy comment above we will say that Ari rises CMB roll would be an 10 (11-1)  go ahead and take the retroactive AOO if you like

casting defensively (15+4=19) Ari throws an acid orb at the face of the one directly attacking him and rises (14+4=18) for 2 points of damage if it hits.  he then takes a 5 foot step back away from the crab/scorpion thingie with the stinger.

The whole point of that discussion was about using Acrobatics.  Arune has no ranks in Acrobatics.  With his DEX Bonus +4 and Chain Shirt ACP -2, his bonus is +2.  11+2= 13.  Their CMD is 9.  So, Arune stood successfully without provoking.  We can say he did that on the last turn.

He successfully casts defensively this round.

He successfully hits with Acid Orb, doing 2 more damage to a previously wounded Sea Scorpion.  That kills that one.  He backs up with a 5 foot step.  Arune would still have a move action.

Scraps is up.

It takes an AOO as you rise, catching you on your tail for 1 point of damage.  You rake it’s arm in retaliation, slicing it for 3 damage.

Round 3.  Jandir wakes up.  Roll initiative.

Lorak goes first at 22 unless Jandir beats that.  Lorak still has one on him.  All 3 of the surviving sea scorpions have taken 3 damage.
