Ok.  29.  You guys manage to build a raft with a small sail and oars.  It was done surprisingly quickly.  The swim is still tough and long, but the raft lessens the DC.  Everyone who wants to swim can go out there.  The raft will prevent drowning if you fail.  You can all swim or some can be on the raft rowing, in which case you are aiding another against DC 10 Profession(sailor).  So, give me some swim or sailor checks...

"this frog would prefer not to get his armor wet to day.  I'm small, can I ride on the raft?" the 30 pound grippli looks at his metal armor.  "Someone needs to be able to fend off the sea life while everyone else gets out of the water!"

Scraps would prefer to not get wet, but what the ship may hold lessens the impact of getting in the water, thou not by much.

A better sailor than a swimmer he is, nonetheless Lorak will attempt to swim. D20(1)+6=7. Critical fail. Good thing he can't drown since he's holding onto the side of the raft.

Her hide armor being not conducive to swimming, Sabine will help with rowing the raft.

 

(Can't remember if you can roll a Profession check untrained; at work and no phone, so can't look it up)

 

Profession Sailor: (13 +5)=18 (minus whatever penalty for untrained)

You’re right.  I was mixing up Craft and Profession.  Ok, if you want to row and don’t have profession(sailor), it’s going to be a Constitution Check.  You can use the same die roll, just change the modifier accordingly.

Arune is very proud of himself for actually helping to push the boat along.  The group is forced to endure how proud he, a treefrog descendant is to be on the water again like his ancient forefathers and how he is founding a tradition of going back to the water.  although he doesn't actually do much to drive the raft onward, his monologue is enough to spur those with actual size and muscle to move faster just to shut him up!

leaving the armour behind, as sea water is not good for leather, and the weight not conducive to swimming, he slips into the water alongside the raft, and concentrating on each stroke was fortunate enough to not hear much of Arune's monologue

You all manage to swim out safely using the raft, some contributing better than others.

 

The shipwreck is in a sad state.  A full third of the ship, the bow, has cracked/weathered and been consumed by the roiling surf.  You make your way into the ship and spend a good hour looking around.  No treasure, ledgers, cargo, corpses, or monsters remain on board.

 

During the search, Jandir steps on a dry-rotted plank, sending him down a deck, and smacking himself good in the process, taking 3 points of bludgeoning damage.

 

The name plate is barely visible:  “The Tears of Grog.”
