"it is possible, it could be that saving our lives is the reason we were drugged so, as with the others, but I am not going to count on help coming for us." with a shake of his head he cast his eyes to the horizon and the surroundings in order to get his bearing and see if he could guess where and how far along their journey they are. (19=9=28 know geography)  "no I think any help we get will be the help we make for ourselves. However when it comes to food, I am happy to help...and on the plus side,  at least this meal is not going to be more soup"

"I am still not sure if we were poisoned or if Cookie's cooking was just that bad.  I suppose it could also have been a mutiny.  Either way, sitting on the edge of a coast is asking to get eaten by a Roc and I don't have my pointy stick."

He looks around at the others and the empty coastline.  "I hope everyone is up for a walk.  Do you think its worthwhile to try to get out to the ship and investigate the cause of its demise?"

Sabine sits up and shakes her head groggily.Once she is sure she can stand so goes to the pile and grabs her short spear to use as a support.  She closes her eyes and casts her senses wide, looking for a familiar aura reds, greens and blues.  Rika, come her intentions fly down the link with her familiar.

Opening her eyes, she inhales the salty sea air and regards the rest of the castaways that are on their feet.  "Is any one injured?"  After briefly awaiting their replies, she then follows the elf to check on those unconscious.

"I have some skill in the healing arts, perhaps I can be of assistance.  Of course, it would help if I had my remedies, but I can call on the aid of the spirits is need be."

Actions and checks

Heal check to examine unconscious passengers: 13+5+1(guidance)=19

Cast Stabilize as necessary to save people, and use Healing Hex on anyone close to death.

Nature check to identify the drug/poison uses to incapacitate us: 8+7+1(guidance)=16

Assuming Rika appears, Sabine questions him about the events that occurred after the meal and if he can shed any light upon missing period of time.

Jandir starts tending to the other 5 passengers.  It becomes clear quickly that they are all alive, and must have been similarly ill-treated by the last meal you all were served.

Sabine calls her parrot to her shoulder and starts assisting Jandir.

All five passengers wake up, look around and start asking "what happened" in their own various ways.

Sabine's and Jandir's heal checks are enough to piece together that you have been poisoned, but it would be impossible to figure out exactly what type of poison without a sample of it.  The poisoning may also explain why you have poor memories of the event.

Arune near-expertly butchers the poison stinger and poison sacs off each sea-scorpion.  He then gets a good cooking fire going quickly and starts to prepare a lobster-bake.

Lorak and Jandir and Sabine (through Rika) "compare notes."  Lorak will tell you that the captain started making some strange decisions, but Lorak was too new to really speak up.  The first mate ultimately lost confidence in the captain as he was changing course too close to an isolated island called The Shiv, or Smuggler's Shiv, due to a large knife-shaped reef that has claimed numerous ships over the decades.  Rika fills in that one big humanoid used a rowboat to evacuate the people onto the shore but the last time he went to the ship he didn't come back out.

With the creatures in the pit, Ari burys them "leave them to cook for about 30 minutes and we'll have some real food!"  He looks over at Jandir "I dont know anyone who could make that swim, do you see anything we could use as a raft or boat to get out there?  I'll help if I can..."

Lorak must have talked to his ship mates about “if we shipwrecked around here, what would be the worst case scenario?”  Sort of an ‘always be prepared’ motto.

Once he figures out where he is, he relates everything the old salts on the ships told him.  Now, if any of it is true or not, you have no way to truly be sure.

P.S. If this cut and paste doesn’t work well for everyone, let me know.

Someone attempt another survival and/or knowledge(nature) check reaching  regarding the Jenivere shipwreck.

(OOC:  I had a big post earlier but it looks like it didn't take; so just hitting the high points)

"I could send Rika our to investigate the wreck, but I am loath to put him into danger that I do not share myself"

"we should check and see if the other passenger have any skills or knowledge that can help us"

Sabine beseeches the spirits of the wind and wave to aid her in finding the correct course of action (guidance)

Survival: 7+9+1(guidance)=17

Nature: 15+7+1(guidance)=23

'Not sure if we can help or not but at least it's still above the water line'

Knowledge nature (9+9=18)

Probably should eat something and find something to make a raft with if we're going to try.  If not I suggest we find somewhere else to be.  I want to eat dinner not BE dinner!'

(OOC, how far out is the ship anyway?)

"I agree, I would not want to send a companion without taking the risk myself" He said with a nod to Sabine, before turning back to Arune. "You're right again on all assessments. We need to deal with food, and shelter regardless. Ketephys knows we could be here for a while, and a safe base camp will be needed. We should discuss this with the others while we eat and then decide our next course of action"

"Hmm, I suggest getting a closer look at the Jenivere as well. Perhaps we'll have to build a raft, although it doesn't look like too difficult a swim". Lorak looks the others up and down, "but then, I'm not as heavily laden as some of you. I will walk down the beach, get a closer look and return." He inhales deeply, " hopefully the food will be ready then. Does anyone wish to accompany me?"
