Printed arm nr1,

The one holding the Katana in scabbard, managed to cut it while cutting off supports...did glue it back though

Another good print.

I need to figure out how to reduce supports and still print such smaller things.

Anyway. Spear arm is in the printer now.

Rotate it so that the sword is sticking up at an angle of more than 30 degrees.

It gives you a decent cross-section(well, compared to printing vertically, at least) and really doesn't need any supports.

You know now that you have a printer you can purchase 3D models from hero forge like this for your lizard army and print them yourself. This is just something I threw together this morning.

See if you can guess who it is. ::P:

The more I look at this, the more I want one.

I fiddled around on that site but I couldn't figure out how to attach extras and weapons to the back or belts, when I try to add something it replaces a weapon he had in his hand.

At the very top of the gear menu should be some buttons to change which area your adding gear to I.E. side, back, back items.

You know you want one. If nothing else it fun to build characters on there just because.
Here is some rev...err......inspiration for you for trying to tempt us into buying printers.

If I ever get a printer, I’ll have a lot of characters to buy......

don't forget you can merge supports into one pillar with only the small contact arm touching the model.  Just remember that 30 degree angle and they will work Also try to keep the last part of the support (the touching part) as short as you can as it is the weakest link in the support structure.

have fun

First of all I want to thank all of you who provided advice and tips, both in this thread an in the 3D Print thread.

I took the advice at heart and angled my minis more to that 30 degree angle, used mainly light supports with a few medium ones and this time I did those manually.

Two minis at the same time, a 3,5 hour printjob.

Flawless!!!

Artisan Guild Amazone Warrior ( her STL is FREE !!!) and a Vampire Girl holding a skull goblet ( Also FREE STL) I had to shrink her down because she was actually a big model.

The light supports came off so easily and this time nothing got damaged.

I'm vey happy with everybody who has been helping, you're all awesome!!!

now use a sharp scalpel/xacto knife to clean up the last remains of the contact before curing or you will have to sand them down later.  You also might want to adjust your contact point from the ball to the cone.  Leaves less behind when removed.

Saaame, even though I've no idea where I'd put an fdm and sla printer in the living room. We're kind of out of wall space to hide things on...
