It was at least five shades of green and yellow with one wash. No glazing.

That is a very cool sculpt and a great paint job!  That's a very smooth transition from the green of his back to the yellower belly, that's something I've been working on lately with a couple of trolls.  I am very familiar with waiting on minis until you think you're "good enough".  I have so many of my own still waiting.
