Randomness XVII: The Madness of the Quorum

Recommended Posts

Well roofers came by, roof is in good condition.

A few small patches on the edges need a little extra covering because water gets through there and runs over the walls ( outside) that's minor repairs.

So I will make an appointment for that.

And now I know what to look for in the future.

Working from home today and Friday.

Just got off the phone to the vet regarding Divas ongoing medical issues, they want to do a full examination on her. Multiple x-rays, full blood work and something involving putting a little bit of sterile water into her lungs and then removing it to see if there is anything nasty lurking in there. Best case scenario is that everything comes back negative, then we can just up her current meds. Worst case, well, you know what it could be.

Insurance won't be contributing as it's a preexisting condition, so it's going to be almost a grand in total. Looks like I'm not getting any of the Reapercon stuff this year! She's going in next week, so I get to fret about how she'll handle the anesthetic for the next six days.

Going to go give her a hug now. Possibly tell her she needs to get a job.

I will cross my fingers for her.

Hope it will be alright.

Are there titanium plugs?

Plugs come in whatever solid material you can think of. I wear stone for work, because it's hard to argue my subdued jade or moonstone or turquoise plugs are unprofessional when I'm standing next to those who have ear danglers brushing their shoulders.

When they stretch again I might go for hollow steel tunnels instead. Then I can thread other earrings through them when someone complains. Like a spare set of ear danglers since those are obviously acceptable.

Having had roof problems & having had a metal roof put on over the existing roof I totally under this one. It was cheaper then re-shingling & well worth it but yah at the time, we were like ughhh. Thank goodness for great parents!!

So is Friday, the recognized fed day for "regular" workers? Co-worker & I weren't sure which one it was (Fri or Mon). If Friday that means I won't be getting my orders till Monday....hmmmmm

It's a weird short week here for us Canadians... At least those who got today off. Work two, off one (today), work two, then weekend.

And then a week off for me, and we're switching to two weeks on one week off due to more customers letting us actually in the building - funny how being able to clean machines makes our days a lot busier... -_-  I'm hoping the weeks "off" being spaced further apart will allow me to enjoy them more, after two months of one on one off it gets to you.

...This also reminds me I need to actually use some of my vacation time, and it will be GLORIOUS to be able to turn the work phone off!

The only thing that sucks about Canada Day (other than it being on a Wed this year) is that the minis I ordered yesterday won't ship until tomorrow at the earliest...

Thank you, I'm getting myself all upset about it already. Goodness knows how bad I'm going to be on the day- we have to drop her off at 9am and wait nervously all day until we pick her up at about 6pm, so I'll have all day to freak out and let the brainweasels run rampant. She's fairly old and I'm terrified that she won't come out of the anesthetic. I know that cases like that are rare, and I trust my get implicitly, but it doesn't stop me worrying.

Unfortunately, it won't be for 6 days because our vet is running on a skeleton staff due to Covid.

On the plus side, she's currently bellowing at me to serve her dinner. Whether or not the picky little Madam deigns to eat what I offer her is another story
