Yep, what Pezler said. The crops were looking good around there before this. Don't imagine they'll look like much now. 1

Later that night I made a lot of small dishes like tapas/ This morning I'm making jam from cherries and I'll add a secret ingredient. So Boozeberry Jam? 10 hours ago, Glitterwolf said: Thx! Oh, rest assured I won't be that productive for the rest of the day. I'll probably be gaming for a while. The jam is in jars now, smells great and I had a little taste while it was hot... Okay, someone sober up @Glitterwolf

Pezler the Polychromatic
Today's THUD: Spoiler Kinda knocked for a loop, but she'll be alright (female goldfinch). She's already strong enough to hop onto a perch, just needs a little time to rest and get her wits about her. 17

No fireworks, nothing close enough to walk to and no interest in fighting traffic. We had some local fireworks in the neighborhood, but nothing terribly excessive; maybe 20-30 minutes worth while all the big stuff was going off in the next town. I have already taken care of the lawn (why do people wait until noon to do that? It makes more sense to do it first thing in the morning while it's still cool out...) and am leaving shortly to run a few errands. That will be the end of any productivity for today, this afternoon is going to be dedicated to relaxing. 4 hours ago, Chaoswolf said: NO MERCY!! Mercy is for the weak! You make a good point, although I would be fine with someone mowing the lawn at 8 am. After 30 years of getting up at between 5 and 6 am, 7:30 am IS sleeping in to me. I keep forgetting about the noise aspect, though. I still use an old fashioned rotary push mower; no noise from that other than me huffing and puffing. I was always a mow at night kinda guy (I always called it "vampire gardening"), but yeah morning is certainly better than middle of the day, and a good push mower means no noise! And more exercise! 3 hours ago, TripleH said: Definitely! More beer? Already 2 into the evening... So glad I'm off tomorrow.
Rob Dean
I made, perhaps, a tactical mistake today. I chose to help my clean-up along by actually finishing some basic scenery work that was in progress. So, I drybrushed the “rocks” (@Cyradis not that rock-like, I know), and flocked the other surfaces. I finished up some 3-d printed rocks and a house acquired from the Big River... ...and did a quick paint job on a Battle Masters tower. (Too many large flat surfaces for beauty.) Now I’m too tired to haul things down to the basement. 19

Rob Dean
There’s still stuff on the floor that I had intended to put away... Other than that, I’d count it as a good day.

But by the time the noise ordinance ends at 7am, the Yellow Orb That Burns and Blinds is already flooding the yard with annoying brightness. So I've switched to mowing around 7-8pm. If I had my way, I'd mount some tiki torches to the mower and get out there around 10-11pm, when I'm actually fully awake and eneregetic, but I can't do that inside of city limits.

Hope it shakes it off. Thanks for sharing. 11

I should have known by the shape of its beak, thank you.

GEM That's an idea, but a mower needs to have a mean sound to it, so as to traumatize the grass into not growing so quickly. Also the torches would add the proper "Lawn Cultist" vibe to the proceedings... It also appears that Littlest Hassenpfeffer has made a friend. Before going out there I saw another smaller rabbit hanging out on the back porch enjoying the shade. So I explained to it that the time of peace and quiet was about to end, and went on my way. After I was done mowing, I saw the new rabbit come loping down the sidewalk in the direction of the feeder. Once it saw me though, it stopped on the edge of the driveway and went about giving me the disapproving glare that rabbits do so well. Meanwhile in the back yard, Little Hassenpfeffer comes up towards the gate, and he's giving me his usual death glare. He hates it when I mow the lawn, and seems to have a low opinion of me in general, which probably has to do with the fact that last year I made it clear in detailed terms just what his fate would be if he got into the pumpkins. So I went back inside because it's too elfing hot and miserable out there to be dealing with judgemental rabbits. 8
