Randomness XVII: The Madness of the Quorum

Recommended Posts

Good News:

My mechanic has given the new truck a thorough going over and the driveshaft bearing carrier is OK.

Bad News:

They found the problem with the brake system, bad ABS sensor.  They also found that the front wheel bearings are indicating that they are going to go out "soon".

Have to take on the Dealer Monster Tomorrow.

Good News:

House is cooling down, which is great as we are experiencing 100 deg. temps right now.

Bad News:

The 15 minute including paperwork service call [bad capacitor on the blower fan motor] was $175.

I'm not complaining.  I already was suspicious of the starting capacitor and the guy with a truck load of repair parts confirmed it quickly and efficiently.  Mama will be much more comfortable which is my main concern.

Well, I mean, why not? Any excuse to stage an epic rescue/fight/chase scene involving motorcycles and bladed melee weapon should be sufficient! Don't forget to throw in a few random explosions, for good measure.

It would have been an old school cruiser bicycle rather than a motorcycle, (although the one neighbor I'm on somewhat good terms with has several he's trying to sell, so I might've been able to "borrow" one...), but luckily the driver managed to fight his way out, first retreating deep into the bowels of Plano, before the infernal powers inhabiting that place began teleporting his truck from subdivision to subdivision...eventually around 4ish, I found the package outside on the patio table, so the driver has some pretty good ninja skills. (I've been periodically lurking in the kitchen on and off all day and didn't see nor hear them, I was rather impressed.)

There may well have been explosions, but I was thinking something more along the lines of the outline of the 2009 movie Centurion, where instead of trying to rescue the general of the 9th Legion from Picts, I would be infiltrating to rescue the driver before going on a roundabout chase throughout Kendall County being pursued by chaos tainted suburbanites and their demonic crossover minions...

...but then again someone put Poison's ERhaT on repeat during our overnight bus trip down to Salt Lake city for Sr sneak & i don't mind that one.

Hearing ANY song, even if I liked it, that many times would have gotten really annoying,  really quick.

The drill instructor woke us up at 4am on the first day of bootcamp (after having gotten to bed at probably 2am) by blasting Welcome to the Jungle while his partner did the more conventional throwing of trash cans.

The smile on the right unicorn makes me think either he's just smoked something relaxing or relieved himself after holding it for a long time.

Or both...

Huh. Well, that's a shame. I do like to see what shenanigans Past Me gets up to sometimes. She doesn't even have to be present to cause mischief!

Huzzah!

And driving through a stack of cardboard boxes. Can't forget that part.

Reason #18 why I LOVE looking for a job:

The job listing states that SLP-A certification is required (or that the applicant is actively working toward it).

...That certification isn't even available until fall of this year...

Huzzah!

It must be a military thing then. I recall it came on at the game store on the radio they play & he just rolled his eyes & muttered "stooopid song......" then we all laughed.

I'm thinking pasta too, but... from pizza hut? I'd completely forgotten they had pasta. of course it's been DECADES since I was in a pizza hut...

Pizza Hut locations vary greatly in quality IME.

The only one that delivers here has been rather dismal.

It would seem I ordered a plastic muffin tin, not a six deep well plastic palette...  Well, if plastic didn't melt in the oven anyways.  Wow this thing's huge.

Well we went to see family this weekend and wound up looking at a house for when Lady C retires and we move there to be with family. We made an offer and it was just accepted a little bit ago. Now begins financing etc. Thankfully we do NOT have to build a place as it would have driven my dear wife out of her mind.

The rest of the weekend was great, sorry, but social distancing went out the window as we both got tons of hugs from g'kids! Before anyone faints, no one in any of the families involved have shown any signs of Chinese Flu.

That's great to hear @Corsair. That's one of the things I currently miss the most, visits and hugs from the mini hellions.

Didn't sleep well last night and spent half the day in various business meetings that had been put off because of the virus. Things are opening up some here now. Late afternoon the batteries died and I really needed a nap. For some reason the wife left the house and 2 year old with me. Brother was in another room. She got to playing with the junk in my night stand which is full of all kind's of odds and ends. Sort of noticed when she shoved a pen between my fingers and was using another to scribble on a note pad. Then she shoved an ear plug in my ear and another up my nose. That almost got my eyes opened. The final straw was when I heard a familiar "snick" sound. It was a jack knife opening. Didn't even know that my wife had taken one out of my jeans and thrown it in that drawer. It's so dull it might be able to cut butter on a hot day but still I shudder to think where she might have tried to stick it. On the plus side she found a letter buried in there with important info on it that I'd been searching for a few days. Wasn't supposed to be in that drawer.

On another topic youtube has decided that I need to watch this video regularly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8OI9FllKfg&list=RDd8OI9FllKfg&index=1 I'm inclined to agree. OK version of a song I like and Kasia Bielecka is impressive. Beauty, power and grace. Had no idea there was such a thing as pole dancing championships before I looked her up. My only viewings of pole dancing before this weren't nearly that athletic.  Don't worry the video's safe for work.
