The heatwave is upon us!

I gave Brutus a few icecubes to cool off.

My girl is taking a Siesta.

For me, last workday ( from home) before vacation.

I have assembled some Gryphkin Infiltrators and will prime "some" minis to be painted "soon" .

Pffff, got a message from a ex-warrant.

He retired last October, I attended to his goodbye party.

A few months before that he and his wife had bought a nice house.

His daughters are bot adult, one has joined the Army.

And now a few months later his wife wants a divorce.

He has been away a lot during his years of service, was stationed at the base and only went home for the weekends.

Now it seems she can't handle having him around much?

He joined the voluntary firebrigade so it's not like he does nothing.

At this moment they're on vacation to see what can be salvaged.

I do hope they can work it out.

He lives 600km away from me ( he lives in Germany) so hopping by isn't a real option.

Well played Corvus Belli, well played.  Let me get my guard down about how nothing in this month's releases are of interest (well, Starmada is, but I have enough armies to paint as it is!) aaaaaand N4 hype week starts on Monday, with several things up for pre-order.  Yeah, I don't NEED the rulebook, but I've always WANTED one...

Not sure my game group is going to survive coronavirus.  Couple months ago we had one person break from the strain of being asked if they were available on the coming Saturday to play a game.  Group was asked not to contact them again and we haven't heard a peep since.  So we are down to 5.  Primary GM now has a romantic interest who has panic attacks, anxiety attacks, or last minute plans the day of or the day before the game.  So, 4 players.  One member of the group is suffering shift changes at work (govt/military job, can't do anything about it) so most weeks there are only 3 of us and no game.

This week we have 4, and it has to be on Roll20 because Shift Worker's partner doesn't want them to leave the house. Neither of the other two (all 3 really) want to be GM.

So the question I am asking is: is it worth my time to spend the next two days prepping a scenario to run, and try and keep this group alive?

That's rough...

And you don't play D&D? What do you play? Is there something new you could try, a free RPG day pregen adventure you all could try out? Set up a rotating schedule of GMing? Everyone does it for a month, 4-6 weeks, before switching off to someone else.

Also, yeah, new blood might help.

Last night both Mrs. Hamster and I just weren't feeling it. It's been a long week. So we had date night a day early. Went and got kimchi burritos and tacos, watched the new Star Trek,  and chilled out. I decided to switch things up on my painting tray... again... and started on the Temple Dragon. Gonna do it up in bright colors, setting it in the jungle somewhere. I'm debating putting eye spots on the wings...

COFFEE!!

I have painted!  Four minis got the finishing coat tonight!

And, more importantly, no more Stormtroopers!  I have painted them all!

  • Nine from the Core Set
  • three from an expansion
  • two Scout Troopers
  • two Dewback Riders
  • six Snow Troopers
  • four Jet Troopers
  • four Riot Troopers,
  • four Heavy Troopers
  • and a commander-type!

Uhh....Heavy Troopers?  I...

It's OK.  I can make it...Only four more...

Impressive numbers...but there are always more Stormtroopers!

I'm only on my 3rd unit for Legion (Scouts this time) and already it's getting to me....and so many more to go.....

Hmm, three new sectorials total coming out with N4... I have to agree with a comment made by Battle Kiwi - given that one of them is literally based off of Russian Cosmonauts, I so hope we get space wolves and bears...

Because that's totally what the enemy needs, bears crashing towards them as werewolves (well, antipodes but still) go flying across the table with murderous intent...

The very last mech I was painting for a Jade Falcon Binary was completed last night, and this morning suffered what seems to be an irreparable case of humidity frosting.

Leaving for work, I locked my keys in the house.

Finally arriving at work, I realized I'd left my lunch at home.

I'm now out of coffee creamer.

I'm told today may be International Beer Day...and I'm out of beer.

You ever had one of those mornings where you judge everything around you by how useful it would be as shrapnel?

If your netbook gives you so much trouble it should clearly be named Loki.

Nah, Loki is a cool name. If my netbook were tricksy and obnoxious, then sure, but no it's just super duper slow and takes ages to do even basic things. It was cheap, the processor wasn't great to begin with, and I think Windows 10 gave it some sort of brain damage.

Before anyone suggests "just install Linux!!", know that I've already looked into it, and it does not appear to be a useful solution for me at this time.

This picture looks imminently meme-able; I'll see what I can come up with after work. :upside:

Huzzah!
