Today north and south fires combined to become 340k acres of burning. Sucks that tonight we might have a thunderstorm (which caused the fire this past week) until Monday morning. Our evacuation maps and border hasn't changed, but the cities to my north had to evacuate. I guess it just becomes what day for us if the fire cannot be contained and the thunderstorm makes it worse. Monitoring the bay area channels, we had a fire fighter commander robbed. His truck was broken into and the wallet was stolen, which the thieves promptly emptied his bank account. like wtf? Go drown in some sewage. Stay safe buddy! Jeez, the nerve of some people, I hope Karma hits that thief and make his house burn down, sorry, the Firefighter couldn't make it in time, someone broke into his truck.. 10

Rahz
Good morning all! It's a dark, rainy morning, which is fitting as I am 10 minutes away from logging back into work after 7 weeks off... I am not emotionally ready for this.... Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.
Dilvish the Deliverer
Caught up from being away all weekend. Awesome Wife and I went off to meet up with some old friend of our up in Ticonderoga NY. We had a great day running around Ft Ticonderoga and Mt. Defiance. On the way to lunch we passed a Set tour for the Star Trek Original Series. So we had to stop there. They have evidently built a replica of the film set for the original series, and even have a couple of the original props. Tour was about just over an hour long (supposed to be an hour, but we had "one of those" fans in our group that had to correct the tour guide on several occasions). I even got to sit in the Captains chair. We took the scenic route home through VT and stopped at a couple of used book stores where I managed to get a couple of fantasy novels, and some books on Irish and Russian folk tales (future gaming inspiration). Other than pulling something in my back at some point, a very enjoyable weekend. Ticonderoga was not very populated and everyone there was wearing masks. We went to Lake George for dinner on Saturday and it was much more crowded and only about 50% mask wearers on the streets. All the stores and restaurants had mask requirements. And I even made it home in time for my DnD game on Sunday night.
WhiteWulfe
One of these days I'll learn that I'll want more than 5-5.5 hours of sleep (my body greatly prefers 7.5). Today is not that day. No, today is the day I get all bouncy and hyper because I'm rapidly approaching the 48 hour mark for when I'll be able to order a bunch of hobbying stuffs!

SparrowMarie
Day...??? of waking up early. I think it's day 3 but I'm not totally sure. Either way if I could get up this early and stay up all day during RCon I'll call that a win.

Keianna
So, I appear to have scratched my eye worse than I thought last night. A call into work and a call to the optometrist is the new schedule for the day. At least it doesn't hurt. 1

kristof65
It's a good Monday when I can be the first one in, and have the service queue cleared before any of the other techs arrive. Crap, I probably just cursed us. 2
Pegazus
I have returned from the swamps of Florida thus reducing my household by one. School starts today. Son is in Tampa and has to adjust to the college-fact-of-life that his first class is at 2pm. Freshmen don’t get to pick their classes or schedule, and he would have preferred something in the morning. Right now, he has all online classes, but we felt being actually at the university was better. Put him into the mindset of being “in college”. Daughter just left to walk to her first day as a high school sophomore, with her in-person days being Monday and Thursday. I took today off to recover and get everything done from my weekend away. Got to mow, work some financials, and other chores. Good to be home, somewhere where the mornings are cool and not a luke warm sauna.

Receptionist came in and created brand new tickets for all of the calls without checking to see if I had already done any. 1 13
redambrosia
Sephy is feeling better today, at least stomach wise. She’s eaten most of her breakfast, most importantly, her eggs. She’s going longer between poops, which is good, because her poor flesh needs time to heal. Now I just need them to get the test results for that stupid covid test back to me. Can’t go to work without them. 19
CaptainPete
I'm not sure if I hurt my back trying to get something down from the closet or if it's hurting because I've forgotten to flip my mattress in a timely manner. I almost called into work, but we're so short staffed right now, I didn't want to make it worse. If my back allows it, I'm going to get some more priming done today. I'm almost done with everything I put together over the last few months. We will tactfully ignore the 30+ minis I've picked up in the last few weeks. 10
