I see no problem with this, I'm waiting for the fishmen, sentient sharks and eels and some sort of prehistoric monster that awakens from it's slumber.

Don't forget the pirate's ghost and some mermaids.

At this rate, I'll have all of the above and more...

So Clive Cussler's "The Sea Hunters" as directed/written by Zack Snyder?

Sounds interesting.

Never read it, nor heard of it. But now that you bring it up, it sounds kinda similar. Interesting...

Originally a book, during the early 2000s, a show was made based on the idea, group of divers, etc traveling around filming famous wrecks. Episodes are on youtube, each is around 45 mins or so. Might be some good reference material.

E. In the wash bay in a homemade plywood box.

Hey!  I think I've encountered your work before!

OK, I haven't seen one that bad, but I have seen sites put wood inside wash bays for various reasons.

One site was putting decorative wooden "frames" around the coin boxes in the self serve bays, strictly for the aesthetics. Everybody from the car wash industry was telling the site owner they would look like crap in a matter of a couple of years, if not within months, but he insisted.   Granted, they were teak with marine varnish on them, but a car wash bay is a harsher environment than your standard boat will see.

now lets play are you smarter than a GC,

worst place to put a transformer:

A below a water line

B next to a waterline but still below ground

C above a water line

D no where near any of that

A

I assume since you asked it, you've seen it?  How could they get away with that? It should fail the code inspection, I would think.

not only did I see it but a second GC broke the water line while playing with a back hoe and didn't notice it until the transformer blew up and blacked out campus for 4 days.

as for how did they get away with it, I'm going to assume a mix of incompetence and corruption given the town where I saw it.

edit: I saw the ruins of it afterward. this is very not my job

Option E: in a movie starring Mark Wahlberg.

Best place to put a Transformer: in disguise.

Let's play "Are you smarter than a car wash installer?"

You are installing thousands of dollars worth of control electronics for a new car wash. When selecting a place/method to mount these electronics, which is the least preferred option:
A. In a separate office from the heavy equipment room, away from the pumps and hoses.

B. In the equipment room, away from pumps and hoses,  laying on a workbench.

C. In the equipment room, directly under a high pressure water line.

D. In the equipment room, away from pumps and hoses, inside a water proof cabinet.

D, obviously, because the water proof cabinet will cost extra.  Not to mention if we have to keep it locked the keys will get lost, or handed to the wrong person. (Only the owner should have the keys, and he will never be available for service calls. )

Either I've been talking about car washes too much here, or you've worked in the industry (or a similar one).

I swear some of these car wash installers intentionally don't worry about electronics equipment being damaged by water, either out of ignorance, or a desire to sell parts in the future.

Or they plan to flip it before it becomes their problem.
