Randomness XVII: The Madness of the Quorum

Recommended Posts

Hmmm... it is possible that our social excuse is faulty...

We used to believe that the reason we had pizza at the game was because everyone else wanted it, so we were just going with the majority....

The game is now being run via computer. We are here, by ourselves.

Pizza is still happening. <_<

The Auld Grump - strangely, the whole group seems to order their pizzas at around the same time - which does not really work as well as we might hope, since delivery times are very different. Our half hour pizza break (starting when the pizza arrives, not when it is ordered) is now about an hour and a quarter....

OK, why did this Flumph attack a Porcupine ?

He didn't - some jerk snuck it into the petting zoo.

In the previous thread I mentioned having a salad for breakfast. :wow:

There were various questions and exclamations of dismay.

No, it did not have eggs in it, but it did have bacon and sharp cheddar cheese. :blues:

I had gotten up late enough that it was more of a brunch than a breakfast.

Also, I ate nearly an entire large 4 meat pizza for dinner.:winkthumbs:::P:

Discorded for two hours now I have a headache.

I have boundaries where social interaction becomes headache-inducing. Unfortunately I never learned where those boundaries are. I do not feel it when I pass those boundaries. I do not display any outward indication that I have passed those boundaries. I do not see them waving frantically before or after I barrel through them. I do not notice when I'm far over them. I never learned any of those skills. I'm lucky I learned I have boundaries.

As a result I now have the you-elfed-past-your-boundaries headache.

When I get back to work I'm going to have to be social for 8 hours at a time every day.

How do normal people do this?

Having never been normal,  I have no idea how people socialize for any period of time.  That said,  I am still planning to visit a house full of people. If travel is allowed anyway.

What they said!
The Gryffon says, “set snack break alarms on your phone“ to get up and stretch and stuff.

Really happy for you.

Ain't much of anybody "normal," and we all got our ways of coping.

I can't actually recommend the alcohol tbh. More trouble than it's worth just for getting by.

Same with food, nicotine, harder drugs, and various sexual activities.

I hear knitting is a pretty wholesome mechanism tho.

For me 2 hours on a discord session is like two hours in any other meeting; boring but it doesn't bother me.  Some people are just not bothered by screens and headphones.  I am running about 5 to 6 hours a day in video and audio conferencing and it's been like that for the last 3 weeks.  Most frustrating part is I can't get work done because everyone wants to talk....

Hope you feel better soon

Oh dang, if we're doing cow jokes and stuff now it's gonna be a pretty good thread. I've got stories.
