Ugh, I spent three hours last night trying to do NMM on a small part of a mini and I seriously thought that I'd nailed it. Looked at it this morning and realized that in actuality it was a badly blended, grainy piece of carp  Into the isopropyl it goes.....

Try taking a picture of it then looking at the picture. It's the weirdest thing, but it's the only tecnique I've had tried where the camera makes it look BETTER.

Oh, and it's a Saturn as well, but I never had any issues with that brand. ::P:

My little '94 Saturn SL1 is still plugging away.

Been vegging a lot lately. Have added two bands to my list of music to buy when I get around to it.

The Hu Band (specifically Wolf Totem withOUT Papa Roach’s lead singer) and Home Free (Man of Constant Sorrow).

Sadly, the Alexa was taken away from me this morning. Daughter has online classes today and didn’t want me blasting Showtek’s F-track for some inexplicable reason.

Just emailed my client to let them know our planned vacation for this year has been pushed to next year, and that I didn't know what our plans are now for this year.

And almost immediately I got this email reply from the general manager:  "I hear Montana in the winter is nice"

Jerk!

Not really - he said that because earlier today we were talking about a potential install job outside of Great Falls. I told him I wasn't real thrilled about the prospect of going to Montana in the middle of winter.  Especially for this job - apparently it's a bunch of custom order equipment. The original plan was that the installation would be done by the crew out of Calgary, since the site is just across the border, but with the border restrictions in place, that probably ain't going to happen.  The general manager offered to pay for my family to go to, so they could have a ski vacation while I am working.

This disturbs me.

It appears that we've broken the trend of kids being more tech savvy than their parents.

I blame iPhones.

Eleven years of being around college kids (my own undergrad plus years working there) has taught me they are just getting dumber. At the start of every year all we ever heard about was how that year's incoming freshman class was the smartest coming in. Ummm, no their standardized test scores are just better because of people shelling out money for test prep classes.

No amount of tech will ever compensate for the brain's ability to think and reason.

This is how it was for my generation:

And the thoughts acquired speed!

I blame iPhones. In my day when I wanted to run a game I input my own DOS prompts! Uphill both ways! [shakes cane]

You too? I have some.. weirdly fond memories of fighting with MS-DOS and X-Tree to figure out how to get to things and then how to get them to load.

Really trying to appreciate my blessings today without being braggy about them. Too many are going through rough times and here I am coasting on good times. Yes, I’m loafing way too much. But that’s not the good tidings in question.

I can sort of relate.  Hubby's work is going really well, he's super happy about it.  My job (supporting online school for two middle school girls) is not going nearly as well.  Not necessarily my fault since they don't want to be home schooled.  But hey, hubby doing well at work helps take the edge off, we might be able to afford a really nice vacation when we're actually able to go on vacation again.

And then a Coffee Crisp too?

I miss having a cup of coffee with a Coffee Crisp.  Can't go visit my parents and stock up on goodies anymore, I'm dangerously close to ordering Purdy's online.

Funny coincidence. I drove a Corolla for a long time and then had a Saturn. They were both very agile little cars. My Saturn had a stick, though. Made for some exciting driving at times.

Our poor worn-out Saturn SL got donated to public radio this summer.  It had driven a lot of miles and it just needed way too many repairs.  It was the first car we ever bought new and we had it for almost 23 years.  Bittersweet decision, that.
