Kangaroorex 36123 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 I'm so tired. Tried to leave work only to discover they had boarded up the front entrance and i had to find the back way out. Got out and discovered they had barricaded the northbound streets (rioters check in but they dont check out?) I had to figure out an alternative road home. Then a 2 hour meeting in the evening. Sigh, I wish people would express themselves peacefully and have intelligent, reasoned, and quiet discussions (a guy can dream, right?) Hope everyone is safe 4 1
TheAuldGrump 48915 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Two bottles of homemade SCAdian ginger beer - the kind that actually contains a small amount of alcohol, made with genuine wort. My grandmother had it explode in her basement, at least once. And they will want those bottles back - they are older than I am. Swing top bottles are still made, but pricey. They are also older than Keith - who brewed it from a ginger bug culture that I gave him way back when. *EDIT* Because I couldn't get ginger beer plant. Also, different Keith, not the U/U minister. *EDIT 2* Kind of surprised he still has the bug - it was fifteen years or more ago, when I was a lot busier in the SCA. PaganMegan 22440 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) That stuff was HOT! I may cut it with beer to cool it down. Good, but I could feel every inch of my sinuses, I bet this stuff is great for colds. And I believe you on how old those bottles are. I had never seen ones like those before. Maybe granmum has, but I would bet Mum hasn't. That wasn't cabonated, it was more like a ginger champaigne! LittleBluberry 35706 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 So all you electrical guys will be happy to hear that when the electrician came today to give me a quote on options to replace some bathroom fans, some broken light fixtures in the garage and a way to hook our furnace into a mid-sized generator, we very calmly just accepted his recommendation to replace our entire panel. The panel looks original to the house, which was built in 1968. So it's got some issues, one of which is the fact that it can't support installing a high voltage car charger. Which might not be an issue except we do happen to have an electric car and will likely get another plug in hybrid, at least. So we're going to have him replace the whole panel, upgrade the fans with GFIC and wire a proper generator link. Then when the power goes out while we're all trapped at home we'll be able to at least keep our freezer, fridge and furnace on. Or we won't lose power and that will also be JUST FINE BY ME!!! 16
Lord of the Dish Pit 23075 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 I'm halfway tempted to start writing background fluff for World of the Unhinged, Bird Feeder: The Squabbling "Unnoticed by the world at large, small and greedy creatures wage all out war over control of the Bird Feeder, using Seed Points to power unnatural levels of frenzied rage while trying to appease the inner demons of Entitlement as the approach of the Time of Freezing draws ever closer..." Would probably work better as a skirmish miniatures game than a roleplaying one, if the number of bird fights I had to break up yesterday is any indication. 11 2

More importantly the apocalypse is coming: I RAN OUT OF DULLCOTE. Been to 7 hobby stores. It's time to make some poor coating decisions. on a side note, 400+ minis in 2020. I could do the bones I scroll by video with things I painted this year. Good luck, I've been told that Dullcote has pulled out of Canada, my faraway hobby store has been trying to get a distributor from the U.S. to send some up this way. 3 hours ago, PaganMegan said: That stuff was HOT! Chaoswolf 114791 Report post Posted September 22, 2020 I took the day off today since it's my birthday and I've got a bunch of vacation time I need to burn before the end of the year. I'll be heading out to the DMV shortly to renew my drivers license. After that, I plan on doing nothing for the rest of the day.
