There's a lovely moon out tonight....so full...

AARRRROOOOOOO!!

All I see are clouuuuuuuuuuds as far as the eye can see.

...Which kinda sucks, because I want to use my telescope, since I don't work tomorrow.  On the other paw, that does make it a lot easier to mess around on Elite:Dangerous...

Welp, I can't even pay in the right thread. Danged pins.

Session 2 of Marvin DMing went okay, I guess. I tried to pick the pace up but still make sure to let them lead their own way. They made a total clusterbroccoli of something I thought they'd breeze through (which, I mean, I could have avoided, but honestly I think it would have been an opportunity missed in the long run) and then blasted right through a bit I thought would take longer and be amusing. So. He giveth and taketh, etc.

We got two episodes in, just barely. Honestly I think they'd fare better with a little more room to breathe, the players need that room to stretch out and feel their way around, but they (the AL designers) really like that schedule. And they (AL players) seem really accustomed to it. I get the appeal, I guess, but I was raised up in a world where whole sessions could be lost to the DM's letting the players follow a stray whim, and I love that magic. Feel like I'm telling the players what to do if I keep having to nudge them back on the tracks.

But anyway. Guess we'll start Rime of the Frostmaiden next week, or get the last episode of this module and then start it. Trying to figure out how to promote exploration of the towns and their NPCs, uncovering rumors and encounters and stuff through natural interactions, while still getting through the objectives, such as it is, that it seems like we need to hit.

I've often wondered the same thing.

They are laughing at you...

They all went to the Steve Martin school of dentistry! (If anyone missed it, I have...issues... with dentists.)  Went to a new dentist on Monday got to wait 2 hours for them to tell me I wasn't worth the bother to work on or clean my teeth.  The search continues...

Anyone got a film x-ray machine for teeth?

OR, what happens in the middle of summer when you need to use a lot of those amps to run the air conditioning system?

Electric vehicles are still too primitive to be of much utility in those areas of the country that are both subject to extended periods of high heat and where the travel distances are great because everything is so spread out.

Until they can devise batteries with a charge density 3 or more times current levels and charging times at least an order of magnitude smaller than current the utility just isn't there for too many people.  and of course, the cost of these unobtanium batteries has to be comparable or lower than the current production models.

GEM

We're getting there, slowly but surely.  Of course if this research would've been done back in the '70's and 80's...

Sounds like it's settling into the job.

Guess so! Everyone else knows about it, but they cannot catch it, it has been stalking the mailroom/receiving dock/maintenance areas.

I just think it's funny that it hops on people's desks while they're there and kicks stuff

Modern ACs such as those in the Tesla are actually pretty decent when it comes to power usage, so it can do 200+ miles while maintaining a comfortable temperature.

(No idea of the total distancee it can drive. I tend to shut out the incessant rambling from the Tesla owners whenever they start. )

Assuming that you get one that doesn't look as if it was put together by blind interns.

Incidentally, if you take a white Tesla with black roof and photograph it against a dark background, never take a picture directly from the rear.

You end up with a picture of something that looks like a sports bra...

It's trying to lodge a complaint about the lack of nuts in easily accessible bowls.

The Boys is pretty great, but nothing is so good that it wouldn't be improved by Karl Urban with cute lil angel wings

I haven't seen the series ( aside from the trailers) I did read the original comics, those were really meant for an adult audience with lots of NSFW content.

The TV show is a light version I guess.
