Popular Post redambrosia
Sorry the pictures are late, but cute baby pictures are worth waiting for. She kept trying to pick up pumpkins bigger than her. We did end up getting that pink one. she found this one and was able to pick it up on her own. Her excitement on the hayride back was too cute. @Glitterwolf your vixen should totally sell her work. There’s people who would pay $100 or more for just the cup! 20

We're known more for ending our sentences with prepositions than our slang. My only contribution, having grown up in northern California, is "dude." It's not just a noun describing a male person, though; basically everything is or can be "dude." Me, you, the cat, the toaster, that car that just cut me off, the book I just dropped on my toe. It can also be used as a general exclamation: Excitement (Dude, I love this song!), Dismay (Dude, my shoe just broke), Wonder (...Dude....), Sympathy (Aw dude, I'm sorry to hear that), Irritation (Dude, watch where you're going) and the list goes on. It's quite a useful little phrase. It's not generally used in very serious situations though, since it is distinctly casual in nature. Also for "soda" vs "pop" (I can't stand that word....)

I've seen him on chat shows in the UK, but he just spoke like a boring American. But the man's charisma transcends any dialect/accent/region! He's second nicest celebrity I've ever met(after the sainted Sir David Attenborough obviously), and far, far more handsome in person. He reduced my normally stoic friend to a giggling muppet in about half a minute. Top bloke 21 minutes ago, haldir said: I can thank a HS friend originally from San Diego for "dude". Very occasionally it might get called "ginger", but it's one of these idiosyncrasies that you don't realize is really weird until you actually think about it 10

I think I am just going to curl up with the Pulp Cthulhu rulebook for the evening... and maybe put Unforgettable on in the background Beats worrying about being grilled about a 1MM USD project I am supposed to be presenting tomorrow!
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted October 6, 2020 Author Moderator Share Posted October 6, 2020 I had a decently optimistic job interview today, so that's good. @Mad Jack hang in there. New Scottish slang added to repertoire... but I'm obligated to ask: what then do you call the liquid obtained from squeezed fruit? Vocab in action: "Run round to the Chippy and get the fish and chips. And don't forget my liter of juice." Not tomorrow but Wednesday I've got to take Molly down to the animal hospital to have the lump removed from her neck/throat area. I'm going to wait in the car until they call to tell me she's out of surgery, but they're going to keep her overnight. She's my baby girl! I'm trying not to worry, but I'm getting really nervous. So I need to share a puppy pic from 2018 in an attempt to ease the anxiety. Molly not quite two weeks after she came to live with us. It was Valentine's Day, so a box of chocolate was appropriate. 14
SparrowMarie
Today is Botox day. Botox day always equal migraines ironically enough. I have a raging pain, probably about an 8 on the past n scale, going from the bottom of my skull going up and over into my left eye. I managed to get some embroidery done though so that's a win. Hopefully, the rest of the week will be much better. I've decided the rest of 2020 is going to consist of finishing projects. This embroidery one being the first. Maybe. I have many already started projects that are so close to being done. Going to talk with my therapist about all of this project piling I do to myself. And, lastly, I'm coming to terms, painfully, that until husband gets his school stuff in order there's no way I'd be able to go back. I had started doing online math courses and if you know me you know my strong dislike of it. It's very recently on a couple occasions that I may have dyscalculia(sp?). So that could be part of the problem. I'm thinking about starting another blog about food history and stuff to ease this pain. I thought about YouTube but I have many problems with it. My current problem is whet kind of camera so I use to film? Where can I find a decently priced editing software? And things like that. If I don't have money for school I probably won't have the money for that stuff. 4

If I don't have money for school I probably won't have the money for that stuff. Hang in there. I'm a firm believer that light shines brightest in the darkest days. I, and hopefully everyone else on this forum, am always willing to listen (it helps me not focus on my own chaos). So, if I may, some of what I've quoted has some possible solutions. It doesn't take much to make a Youtube channel. Like you said, a camera and editing software. So if you want to dip your toe into the water (which for this may be better than the cannonball approach) you can use a decent webcam first and there is some free video editing software that is pretty intuitive without a lot of bells and whistles. I have a Logitech c920 webcam, and with good lighting it takes good video. It's an older model, so it's relatively inexpensive (or was, pandemic must have increased demand, but that speaks to how it has held up over time). Logitech has their own software for recording, and it's free to download. And most importantly, it has threads so it can be mounted to a camera tripod if you want to do that. Some people use DSLR cameras to record video, but I have no experience with that. But it is possible, if you have one. I've recently been looking at OpenShot for video editing. Several tech sites list it as one of the best for beginners. It has basic editing, but is user friendly. It should be able to do everything you want it to do (if you want, just make yourself a pilot episode to see if you like what it can do... and whatever camera you try). And it's also free. No need to go off the deep end if you don't have to. EDIT: I might even suggest trying the software first before buying a webcam/camera, to see if you like it. Just edit together a few movie clips from your phone or any other video you have on the computer. Just some ideas. I'm others will have suggestions too. Hang in there!
