Looks like the Kinetic and HobbyBoss kits are the newest toolings if you can get your hands on one of them, otherwise (if I'm reading the timeline correctly) the most recent before that is the Hasegawa which is a 1991 tool. As to where to get them from, not sure on that - and being 1:48 they'll be expensive (hell, 1:72 is getting expensive) Probably two seater. No real preference for which variant other than one that Canada would have had at some point. 1 hour ago, OneBoot said: Serious question: for those of you with spouses/kids that don't share your hobby interests, how do you manage to hobby without anyone feeling ignored (or the chores left undone)? Huzzah! --OneBoot :D After being married for 20+ years (and many of them separated for long stretches of time due to Navy), Awesome Wife and I don't feel the need to be in each other's pocket constantly (not that that is a bad thing if you both enjoy that, just we don't). We have activities that that we do together, and activities that we do separately. For instance, she listens to a bunch of audiobooks; if I'm yapping at her, she can't concentrate and gets annoyed. Or she will watch one of her period British dramas (Pride and Prejudice and the like), which while I enjoy them occasionally, she watches them more often than I care for. During those time, I hobby, game, watch YouTube and so forth. As far as chores, in our house, we spend more time reminding our kids to get the chores done. But as far as my stuff, I don't hobby if I have chores to do. Or I hobby in between stages of chores. Load the washer, paint, move clothes to dryer, paint, load dishwasher, paint while it runs. In general, we tell each other that we are going to go do something (and offer for them to join), and trust that if they need Us Time that they will tell us so. Then we readjust. That works for us. Wouldn't work for some other couples we know (my buddy Alan had to do an overnight work trip for some training and it was the first time in 15 years that he and his wife spent the night apart; at about 15 years into their marriage). Big thing is to sit down with your spouse/SO and hash things out. Most of the time I tend to imagine that my wife thinks things are a bigger deal than she actually does. Like my first RCon. I had been planning to go as I was finally on shore duty and could take leave and then they announced that it fell on our anniversary weekend, I told her that I would have to miss it, to which she replied that I should go, we could celebrate the anniversary later as had become our tradition (as I invariably was out to sea most the prior dates). Hence Cash, Coporea and others dubbing her Awesome Wife. 11

Huzzah! --OneBoot :D Much like @Dilvish the Deliverer, my wife and I can be content to do our hobbies separately from one another. We enjoy 'us' time, but we're also ok with giving each other space to pursue our respective interests. The past several years, due to our housing situation, we've been doing our hobbies in the living room, so we're still sort of together, just doing different things. We both make a point to talk to one another to find out if wandering off to our respective corners to hobby is ok before we just disappear. As for as chores go, I do 'em ASAP so that the balance of the day/evening is free. If it's something like laundry, that can be done concurrently with hobbying. 2 hours ago, ManvsMini said: I got Molly back from the animal hospital! I want to say she was happy to see me, and that it was the painkillers that kept her tail from wagging at me, but she definitely did not wag her tail or look enthusiastic. She's made at me for leaving her yesterday. And will probably continue to be so for the next two weeks, as she can't do any form of running, jumping, getting on furniture otherwise she might pop one of the internal sutures. Now I have to keep a very active, very strong labrador calm and practicing restraint... I think I can already feel another hernia coming... Poor baby didn't eat for them at the hospital, I had feared she would not take food from strangers (which is a good thing, right?), so she was very hungry when she got home. Resting comfortably. Dixie got her labwork and imaging done too, so she is set for her eval next week. I agree with Glitterwolf, she'll bounce back and forgive you pretty quickly. I know that it kinda sucks taking a pet to the vets office, 'cause they don't understand why. You know you're doing it 'cause you love them. A little extra petting, belly rubs, or other type of affection showered on them after getting home usually helps a lot. 10

A peanut butter cracker after icing her incision went a long way towards easing some of those hurt feelings. Not fully back to where we were, but her tail wagged at the tip. She'll get there. Walking her for potty time may be an issue because she's pulling and wants to run, so it's going to be a long two weeks. We let Dixie come in to see her, prove that she came home (I'm told she spent most of yesterday while I was gone looking out the window for Molly), but Molly must have smelled something from the vet on Dixie; she growled when she came close, and started to lunge at her. I may have to keep them separate. I want to do the responsible thing at home and wear a mask (apparently there was a lapse of good judgement yesterday while I was away involving lack of masks and extended visitors in an enclosed space, plus the fact that I am out so often) but Molly associates the mask with Bad Things Happening to her. Cabin fever from the pandemic is hitting family members (thus leading to poor choices); trying to contain the chaos is a battle I've been fighting for months, but now emotions are running hot, heads aren't thinking with logic, and none of that bodes well.

Mad Jack
Wow... Jack got a call from his boss about an hour ago... Jack has been informed that Jack is using a vacation day to take tomorrow off. Normally Jack would have many objections to this on principle, but apparently the company has found out that there are now TWO cases of COVID at the company, both in the Filling dept., so tomorrow they're closing it down to clean it. Jack will hopefully be back to work again on Monday, but if not, Jack currently has around 105 hours of vacation time stored up - and Jack can only carry over 40 hours into next year, so they've been encouraging me to burn some of it. 19 hours ago, Marvin said: Y'all ever get a few beers in and decide to hit the whiskey and next thing you know you're sexting and sending Limp Bizkit videos to people? I thought to myself that it was nice that we got a stiff breeze through here to air it out. I considered opening the garage door to let the wind blow all the way through the house. As a life-long New Englander, any wind that doesn't bring down an entire tree (not just a big branch or two) just isn't that big a deal - it's simply a fact of life that once or twice a year you're going to be fishing your outdoor furniture out of your pool. PaganMegan
Grump is doing his Tim Curry impersonation. Sounds like somebody that is AMUSED that the PCs don't believe him. "Would you care for a puff? I won't tell if you won't." This guy sounds venomous, in a way I can't describe. Amused, lethal, and Tim Curry. Not bothering to threaten the PCs because they are not a threat to him. I'm thinking DRAGON. 4 hours ago, Glitterwolf said: Good that she's back! She will forgive you, dogs always do. Huzzah! --OneBoot :D Well, honestly, in my house the simplest way is to exploit the natural body clock differences. On weekends, it’s not unusual for me to be up at 0500, while she sleeps in until 1000. So I could have 5 hours of uninterrupted “me” time, enough to do a grocery store run or mop the floors and still get in as much painting as my back will stand. Since the lockdown she hasn’t needed to take a business trip, but I used to get some time then — I could, for example, take short cuts on meals that I wouldn’t do if she were around (peanut butter toast for dinner? ... sure...). 10
