Of course, what the pieces of paper say and what is reality are not always congruent

Ah, so they're going by the top command, not what pretty much everyone calls it, that explains it.

@Kuroneko Molly sends her thanks that you prescribe more treats. She's starting to wag her tail at me, and I know she isn't feeling much if any pain currently because she wants to act like she usually does. We've had a few worrying moments of her doing something that could pop a suture, but since they are the internal dissolving kind, I can't tell if she did (I check her constantly to make sure no blood is coming out of the incision). She's going to have cabin fever real soon, or at least until the numbing injection wears off (possibly).

That mini is looking awesome! And the muffins too. Is there a word or phrase in Scottish dialect to express how delicious something looks?

@Crowley sucks about the exam score, and that you have to retake it, but 2% isn't far off. You can do it! I'm on your cheer squad. Hope the Mrs. is doing well today.

But the resulting muffins were absolutely delicious, even if they were 40% blueberry ::P:

Nothing wrong with that at all.

I dug this critter from my box of shame and did some work on his wings that originally came from another mini. Nowhere near done, but I'm happy with how he's going so far

What is/was this delightfully Griffin like creature?  Does it originally have a Lynx face or is that a head swap? Where are all its parts from?

The Griffin Pendrake approves.

Most of our words are negative (funny that<_<) but I'd be lying if I didn't consider this muffins as some "gie braw scran" ie very lovely food. "Braw" is usually meant to describe some thing as pretty, but in this case it's just calling it good. "Scran" is a local term for food, so that fits as well.

It's a combination of these two GW minis, a really old Griffin and the newer Mindstealer Sphiranx. He just didn't look right without wings!prince_Althran_IoB_wfb.JPG.9f5eb88d719a39f3d05ae3845239d083.JPGMindstealer-Sphiranx-Age-Of-Sigmar.thumb.jpg.94a5d7c49ccf8d2fef106afcfc793916.jpg

Aaargh! Got a weird double post and it's not letting me delete names for some reason :(

For some reason, when I try to pay my power bill, it keeps saying there's an error and says something like "Well, better check with your bank to see if it went through." Which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...

And I've done another order with Reaper. And then a large order from Evil Empire of Online Shopping. Because I needed to pre-order some stuff so I don't have to chase down volumes of the manga I'm enjoying. Again.

Poor Sephy isn’t feeling well again... still. On the plus side, she’s extra cuddly.

Serious question: for those of you with spouses/kids that don't share your hobby interests, how do you manage to hobby without anyone feeling ignored (or the chores left undone)?

Huzzah!

--OneBoot :D

So, most of Hubby and my interests are shared, but not all of them. Like, he cares a lot more about the lore behind some of his games (like mortal kombat) and will rave about them for quite a long time. Do I care that much? No, but he does, so I listen, I ask questions when appropriate, and he appreciates that. He does the same for me.

As for chores and feeling ignored, we actually had a situation recently that we had to work out, because resentment was starting to build up. I would say that the most important thing in those situations is to talk to each other, listen with an open mind and heart, think about your spouse’s needs, then come up with a plan to address the situation. Collaborate. Marriage is life by the buddy system.

Parallel play is an option. It lets you two do your own things while being in the same room together. My wife and I used to always do separate things together.

Hubby and I do this a lot. My crafting table is in the living room, and always will be, even if we get a fancy house with enough rooms for me to have a crafting room.

I... am a slow DM. Went way over on that adventure episode that was supposed to take an hour last night. My shame overwhelms me.

Nothing wrong with that, depending on the reason. Was it because the players were roleplaying and getting into character? Or was it because you were looking things up and getting distracted or forgetting stuff? If it was the former, that's a good thing. If it was the latter, that's no so good.

One of the secrets to good relationships is being able to pretend you're interested and supportive of someone even when you don't care about what they're excited about. ::P: The wife is only marginally interested in minis although she has bought and painted a few but she knows it's my big stress reliever and is happy me and the boys can play together. She does needlework and very detailed paint by number pictures. I help her with painting a bit because my mini knowledge translates somewhat especially when he paints dry out because of crappy pots and I start mixing from my collection to get her the proper colours. It would be nice if we had more shared hobby time but we're both ok with each of us being able to do our own thing.

Time is less important than quality. If your players enjoy what you're doing that's what's important. Hopefully you're giving them a good experience because that's the whole reason for playing. And that none of them are upset about the overtime.
