Wear your shame like cheap cologne: boldly. 2 hours ago, Kuroneko said: Most of our words are negative (funny that) but I'd be lying if I didn't consider this muffins as some "gie braw scran" ie very lovely food. "Braw" is usually meant to describe some thing as pretty, but in this case it's just calling it good. "Scran" is a local term for food, so that fits as well. That batch of muffins does indeed look like gie braw scran. Is it common practice to put anything on them, or just eat them straight up (my folks put butter on a hot muffin, but I always eat them as is). On the other hand, we've been in a small NYC apartment together pretty much non-stop since March, so we both appreciate a little "alone" time. As for chores, they get done before hobby stuff. This morning I got my score for the CPA FAR exam. 73%. Needed a 75% to pass. Honestly that was better than I was expecting, but... Broccoli. Now I have to take the elfing thing over again. And I cancelled D&D last night because my brain was goo dribbling out of my head. Working early and late every day this week, and just... If it wasn't for the imminent arrival of Baby Hamster, 2020 would just be the worst. Coffee.... maybe with whiskey... That is really unfortunate, you have worked so hard for that. I hope you can take it again soon and that they gave you the areas you still need to work on? I wish you the best of luck! I hope all goes well with baby hamster and you can indoctrinate them into the ways of the Sithius Rodentious. Also, given the predisposition to coffee, you may have to protect your stash! I am fortunate that my better half works outside the house so we aren't competing for office space. On the negative side I have 2 adult children who, due to covid and other reasons, are still in the house with us really messing up the alone time 2 hours ago, Marvin said: I... am a slow DM. If everyone is having a good time and doing what they want to do, there is no timers on the game. It is hard to breath life into a world where you only have a paragraph to describe it. Take your time and do it right!

And they really don't believe him, which is strange, since he is telling the absolute truth. The Auld Grump You were TRYING to channel Long John Silver, what you GOT was an EVIL Franken Furter. My shame overwhelms me. AL tends to do that. When I was running the Ravenloft ones last year, there were multiple times I just stopped at a spot & told the players, we'd pick it up next week. They didn't mind. 8 hours ago, Crowley said: Mostly Mrs Hamster and I work like this too, though we haven't been together as long as Dilvish and Awesome Wife. So with next Monday, I'll be running the next 2 adventures in "Ice Road Trackers" the newest starter module for the Icewind Dale season, which is cool in all. Just it's the only one out there right now! I wish AL/DMGuild would release the starters & 1 or 2 at the start to kick off the season. I'm not sure what the release schedule is & if it's like the Eberron one, it'll be 1 a month. With the way leveling is in the newest Al seasons, the PCs are suppose to level up after each adventure. How do you run weekly games with this release schedule??? At least Halloween week, I won't have to worry about that as I'm running a non-AL adventure but the week in-between that one is gonna have to be a non-Season 10 adventure. Supposedly, the next one is the 17th, in the meantime, I've got one I'm eyeballing for that week. It'll feel weird thou to run a Icewind Dale setting, jump to Hulburg & then back to Icewind Dale. Just is the nature of Adventure League I guess.
SparrowMarie
I got very sick last night and today is my birthday. I'm doing my best to enjoy it. I'm stuck at home though because no one told me there was covid at my mom's work before I went to see her. So 2 week quarantine until she gets test results. Her work is only doing tests on Tuesdays during the day. She works night shift. So things could be going better.

I'm sorry you have to go through the mill again but you are so close that third time should see you getting a pass. The advantage is, you now know how the system works so you don't have to stress over that part of the process. The CPA Exam is a deliberately designed system to limit the number of new CPAs so don't feel to bad. There's a lot of people out there who didn't come as close as you did, and the way the system is designed they didn't actually pass very many people this go round. haldir
Well kinda good news, I guess. One of my players had something come up so we won't have a Saturday game tomorrow. Since we are playing the rest of a AL game from last Saturday I was debating on running the next in line module tomorrow as well. I placed a order with a reliable, fast seller on bay of E on Monday this week. Minis for that next game were suppose to be here today (or tomorrow), so I guess I don't need to worry about not getting those in time. I don't mind, gives me time to actually do some things around the house I've been putting off like mowing the yards (hopefully the last one of the year...one can only hope). I guess the downside is tomorrow night is the start of my week vacation, so I kinda miss out on playing D&D & then not going to work tomorrow. Sunday & Monday next week are filled with gaming goodness thou so it makes up for tomorrow. FLGS is demoing DCC (looking forward to playing that, one of the retro-clones I haven't played yet) & Monday is my return to AL DMing for the FLGS. EDIT: According to emails, minis are in my mailbox right now...(figures, ha ha)

Moderator Chaoswolf Posted October 9, 2020 Moderator Share Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) @Crowley---That's a real kick in the pants about the test, I'm sorry to hear it. It's probably not much, but doing better than you thought you might should feel a little good though, right? Do you get detailed results, like what you did poorly on so you can work on that, or is it just a generic "here's your score, have a nice life"? @Kuroneko--I really like that sphinx kit-bash; I think it looks much better than it did in it's original form. Also, as a fan of blueberries, I heartily approve of 40% blueberries blueberry muffins. Edited October 9, 2020 by Chaoswolf 8
