's possible his pride is also getting in the way. Still having a hard time acknowledging that being 72 is not the same as being 32 or even 62. What can I say, he's crotchety.

My dad was 72 when his fall lead to him being hospitalized and then put in a home for dementia. After his fall I scheduled him to see a neurologist, with a 2 month waiting period. By the time that appointment came up he was already in the hospital.

If you can, the time to see a neurologist and talk about a living will is NOW. Things can happen fast.

Depends on whether they're willing to allow for telework, I guess. Hey, @aturriff, do you want to know more?

*figures if she's gonna start a PM storm, might as well involve all necessary parties..*

@Sylverthorne Cannot hurt. Not like most of what I do requires on-site presence (unless working on layers 1 and 2, but I rarely do that these days)

Family can be nice... but they can also be a right pain in the arse, usually at the worst times.

You say this as Mrs. Hamster's aunt and grandparents are about to arrive... Unexpectedly.

The aunt had arranged to come on Saturday.

Alone.

*SIGH

Lights off, lock the door, pretend no-one's home

You have a newborn, more than enough reason to exclude people who arrive unannounced (congratulations BTW).

Alternatively, you and Mrs Hamster take the baby out and leave the visitors to clean the bathrooms and kitchen, make dinner and meals for the next week etc...

Now where have I seen the expression that Alfie has in that last panel?

Truly, a mystery.

(Brown eyes instead of blue, curlier and frizzier hair... yeah, I know where I have seen that face before.  And Brigid is starting to look just like her.)

*EDIT* A clean page from a dirty comic. Seek out Alfie at your peril - fun, a good plot, but porn. Only two chapters to go.

The Auld Grump

I only wear that expression when I'm planning something naughty.

So I wear that expression a LOT!

I love Alfie, porno with CHARACTER GROWTH!

Somehow my favorite character has gone from Alfie to Vera, and now I am SO HAPPY about Vera and Cillian.

It felt SOOO familiar.

I'm pretty sure my ears would be going f-r-r-r-t too. ::P:

Can't link that one, definitely, definitely, definitely grown up happy fun time!

Since we're supposed to be getting a frost in tonight, I gathered the remaining pumpkins...

100_1919.JPG.3cfdb9fdfe77dcb9df3f47797c78541c.JPG

Which brings me to a total of 16 this year. They appear to be hybrids of the Jack B Littles and the Pie Pumpkins of last year, and all came from seeds that had been outdoors all winter, as I left last year's pumpkins to rejoin the soil. In comparison to last year, the ones that survived the heat had a slightly longer growing season, up until the first frost a week or so ago, they were still flowering and two tiny proto pumpkins were on the vines, and they had started growing earlier in the season than I'd expected.

So after Halloween, I'll do the same with these, and mix in some fresh topsoil.

I had a couple ICP CDs that disappeared years and years ago. Nothing of value was lost, fortunately.

Only six players total showed tonight, so I let the regular DM take them all and just didn't play (I really don't get the whole playing adventures you've already played before/have run now thing; totally doesn't appeal to me), so I've still yet to begin my Icewind Dale DMing adventure. Disappointing.

I've drafted, like, two and a half new stories in the last couple days tho. One of them I think is pretty all right. So that's nice.

A little frustrated with my D&D group. We haven't played in like 3 weeks for one reason or another. Like they're reasonable reasons but I need my D&D fix. Especially since this is my only like social outlet where I actually get to talk to people on voice chat. I'm also still a few days out from not being in 14 day quarantine so that doesn't help. Had to schedule my therapy Tuesday as a phone appointment because of this. Which I don't particularly like doing. Anyway, I'm trying to write but seeing as I'm here it's not going well. I want to do NaNoWriMo again this year but I've got zero ideas for a story.
