I remember when I was living in the city and two guys got into a heated argument about who's town was better. An older guy listening stepped in to calm them down. He told them, "Remember, we're all from [email protected]##$#@^K, Saskatchewan. Upstairs, Julie's rogue is dealing with Dunn - another ogre... and resident jerk. (She just figured out that he isn't one of the bad guys, he just doesn't like cops.) That sad moment when you realize you have been outsmarted by an ogre. (In her defense - this is an ogre that did not choose Int as a dump stat, and has Bluff and Sense Motive as class skills.) Most of the smugglers aren't attacking - they are just running away, since the PCs never did get around to having folks watching the caves below the inn. Spells are low, so it is likely that most of the smugglers are getting away - but they did capture the ringleaders, so it isn't a complete loss. My wife got stopped in West Berlin (near check point Charlie) by a guy who walked up to her and said "you're a Fletcher. Which one of them do you belong to?" Get to see the grandkidlets on Saturday. GEM Returned about a half hour ago. Northern Owens Valley is wearing its early Fall Colors. The farther north one gets the prettier it is. The area around Mono Lake and towards Bridgeport is so colorful people are pulling over at every wide spot in the road to take pictures and just take it all in. Didn't get to see the grandkidlets as both Cathy and I have developed runny noses from all the smoke from the still burning forest fires in the Sierras. One area Wrst of Mammoth Lake/ski area is so smokey that visibility is down to about 3/4 mile at best. Also Daughter Unit is under the weather with either flu or something that is borderline Covid symptoms. Got hit with a "surprise" when we called our saleslady at Craftsman Homes. The Fleetwood Factory wants an additional some odd $7500 for "increased material costs". We've already experienced two price increases from the time we first started the loan application process so I told her to call our lending agent [who was her recommendation] on this. We are qualified for a VA Loan and there are certain cost exclusions and locks involved with VA Loans. My feeling is, the order was placed with the factory in mid-July and if they can't project their costs out to the delivery date than they either need to raise their prices up front or negotiate a better price with their suppliers for orders in hand. The schedule was represented as being in the 30 day range when the order was placed and the delay is all on the factories part. Needless to say, one Green Eyed Monster has little wisps of steam coming out of his pointy ears just thinking about this. On the other hand, the good news is Craftsman anticipates project completion by the end of November. Going to take most of tomorrow to get caught up. SparrowMarie Posted October 18, 2020 Share Posted October 18, 2020 I'm panicking. Husband just had to take our 18/19 year old cat to the emergency vet. She started laying in her litter box (thankfully, it's pretty clean). When we took her out she sat on the bed for a few minutes and then went back in and laid down again. He Googled some things and it said it could be a UTI or blockage. She already has kidney issues so we didn't want to chance waiting until Monday when her regular vet is open. It's about midnight here. Gonna be a long night. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I'm a mess right now. I'm worried since he had cystitis a week ago. The last results were good. And then we had the big scare which turned out to be nothing. He doesn't want to have his breakfast, this in itself is not unusual, but I can see that feels a bit nausous and he walks slow, he isn't himself. Rahz Posted October 18, 2020 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Happy Sunday all! I woke up still feeling stuffed from our crepe dinner last night (thin French pancakes). Filled with savory goodies for dinner and then filled with ice/whipped cream and other goodies for desert... Both kids tackled us in our bed this morning for a morning cuddle and a 8 and 11, our queen-sized bed is really not big enough for that. Still was a good way to wake up. Long week of worry ahead with one friend in for a liver transplant today/tomorrow and another in court for his verdict later this week. A guilty verdict would see us loosing him for a long time after an almost 3 year trial... I didn't expect my little gang of gamers to start falling apart in our 40s..
