The moral of the story is to always count your nuts twice.

@LittleBluberry I have to take specific training for that periodically. I’ve seen the accounting go so far as having little tiny employee badges (half sized dominoes) that had to placed in the tool box when a tool was removed. Rivets had to be counted by the parts counter person before giving them to the mechanic, and all failed rivets had to be returned as well.

Course, if the stuff I work with goes boom, it turns 8-11 digits of money into interesting stones on the ocean floor, so there’s that difference.

@LittleBluberry it even has an acronym.  FOD: Foreign Object Damage

At seven digits of money an event like Pegazus alluded to is considered a "Class-A Mishap".  IIRC, A Class-A mishap was an incident involving "Injury to and/or death of personnel or causing in excess of $1,000,000 damage."  ( <_< Leave it to the USAF/NASA to make the worst event possible sound like the best kind… )

The problem with getting into this hobby is that you start noticing mold lines on everything.

No idea what you're talking about. I swear I didn't wince hard when I looked at my "brand new" work vehicle and saw seriously large mold lines everywhere... C'mon, it's a $40k ish truck, put some care into your... Oh, it's a Ford, never mind.

Yeah, I still want to eliminate the mold lines on the various panels of my work vehicle..

At least in OR, we are allowing self-pumping now. Thou, really when the pumps are busy & the attendent can't get to you or late night when the gas stations are closed for the night. Generally, there is one pump open for such use.

Over here, I just say "nah, I've got it" and they usually leave me alone.  One guy where our work vehicles refill though, every time he'd ask, then a few times later he'd be all "shucks, you beat me to it".  Six years later, he finally managed to pull it off and I just smiled and laughed.

Back when I worked for Domino's, some of the guys at one of the Husky locations thought I was kidding when I said "there's five bucks in your name if you leave my car alone"... Partially because I'd seen the rush they had been dealing with for over half an hour, and partially because I enjoy pumping my own fuel - even when it's thirty below.  True to my word, afterwards he did indeed get $5.. Plus I think another $20 because the other gas jockey bet I wasn't serious... Man that other guy was not happy when I came in to fuel again the next day...

I have no problem with self serve when I go to New York state.

But I'm also glad they don't allow it here. Because our gas stations tend to be much smaller than new york's because land costs more. (With the exception of nyc and a few parts of LI) so one old person staring at the machine yelling "how do I make it go" could create a line around the block. At full service you either need to have cash or card ready, or go until you figure it out.

Here knowing how to pump your own fuel is something that as far as I know, is drilled into everyone who wants to drive..  But we're a province that's primarily self serve (right now full serve stations such as most Husky and Co-op Gas Bars are self serve to protect the employees), so you better know what you're doing...

We are also a pre-paid only province too. It's saddening to see the occasional person flip out when they won't turn the pump on for them.  Meanwhile, I'm sitting there thinking my company gives tens of thousands of dollars to this one gas bar every year and we don't get it turned on, so why would they?  Sure, I'm not a fan of the policy, but it pretty much stopped gas and go incidents overnight... (it was brought in due to multiple workers being killed trying to stop gas thieves from leaving)

FOD is something I have to be mindful of with one of my customers - an airport...  Since one of my delivery locations is just off of a taxiway.

Which reminds me, I should probably bug my boss to try and get me a red card once they let us into more locations again, as such would make several peoples' lives easier once the pandemic is taken care of... Even if it means I have to (or better yet they) get a portable radio to communicate with ground control.

Still hard delivering there. So weird that I can deliver to businesses outside the fence without issue, but the instant I'm having to go near or past that fence....  I'm also still waiting for that moment I get pulled over by the RCMP and my truck smells distinctly of my previous customer that rents a bunch of land at the airport. That will be an interesting discussion.

@ManvsMini good luck today!

@Crowley the Hamsterling looks great, I like the skintones and you did a great job on the eyes. Display quality for sure!

Brutus is doing better, he doesn't like it when I administer the painkiller ( I need to use a syringe and spray it in the back of his mouth) and the antibiotics are working.

I will hear today or tomorrow if we need a heavier or different dose.

His appetite has returned, last night when I made the apple pie, he asked for an apple.

I need sleep. Last few nights were short and I have worried too much lately.

My girl made split pea soup and i took some with me for lunch later today.

I'm at the Base today, working from home tomorrow.

Tomorrow the car will need it's annual check up, changing tires etc etc...

With the Vet bills and that it will be a fun month!!

@Glitterwolf  glad Brutus is doing better.

@Crowley made another dungeon for you. Used DungeonMapDoodler.Com to build it. (It is a fun little draw online, in your browser window, mapmaker.)  Leaving this unlabeled so you can use it as an emergency sub-level / number it as required / insert monsters to suit:

It is agnostic as far as whether these are 5 or 10 foot squares. Entry is by the long straight staircase at the bottom right.

Glad to hear that Brutus is doing better, it's always a relief when their meds finally kick in. Loki recently had laryngitis(very sneezy and lethargic)and it took 2 separate batches of meds to get rid of it. We knew he was starting to feel better when he started stealing my paint brushes again!

I was relieved when Brutus started to eat a little again, and I was happy that he asked for an apple last night.

He refuse it when he was in pain last Sunday and that had me worried.

Another 4-5" of snow over night and still snowing. Hospital finally did all the tests they wanted on my MIL so there's a good chance they'll discharge her today. Hopefully the roads will be cleared later this morning. Just checked the highway hotline and it's only snowy near the border. The farther north you go the less there is.

Also got a shipping notice for my Creality CR-6 yesterday. They handed it to UPS 6 days ago. I despise UPS because their cross border fees are incredibly high and they don't deliver here anyhow. Tracking shows nothing which is normal in my experiences with them and odds are they've just mailed the printer with Canadapost. One way or another I should get it soon but I'm hoping they weren't in charge of the duties and import taxes. I don't feel like paying another $4-500 on top of what I already have.

Found a Chrome extension that turns every page into dark mode! It's called Dark Reader.

Oh, nice... Found a Firefox version. I mostly like it.

Coffee... and maybe now a nap.
