Randomness XVII: The Madness of the Quorum

At Saturday's game, Grump sang a song about a tattooed lady.

Grump singing something I never heard of is normal.

John, Julie, and Duncan joining in means I missed something. ::o:

Duncan is almost exactly the same age as me.

I have a long weekend coming up (11/6-9) and I'm trying to decide what I want to try to do during it. I have a number of minis that I need to finish the bases on, and some greenstuff work to do... a couple minis on the shelf of shame that could use some love...Or I could start something totally new.

Both. You get the satisfaction of finishing something now, then when your life inevitably gets more hectic you've got some things that you can work on finishing when you have a few extra minutes here and there.

Its not that bad, I finished my first wooden ship during my firstborn's infancy.  Sleep didn't happen but i finished the ship...

Ah so you can see if you've worn your mask. I was wondering how I put those things on............

I mention Idaho (cause well Idaho...) but they actually made ABC news in regards to their disregard to wearing masks. Hospitals are at the boiling point as far a patients. Northern Idaho may have to start sending people to other regional places & their non-medical team of medical council or something like that (ie people on their council don't need any medical experience...::o:) voted to strike down a mask order. A couple people they interviewed, wow lets just say what they said was pretty dumbfounding even for Idaho.

Sad part about this whole thing Brad Little could issues a state wide use & he's for wearing masks, but he won't issue it. He's only got one in place for like Ada & Canyon counties (ie Boise & the surrounding big city areas of ID). Again, Idaho.

Times like this I really wish we lived on the western side of this state & far away from the Gem State.....

This is slightly unsettling news as our new modular is being manufactured by Fleetwood at their Nampa, Idaho facility and it then has to be trucked down to Stagecoach, NV from there.  Supposed to be rolling off the line any day now.

Looking at the map, and having worked as a pilot car/escort for these sorts of moves it's going to be one really long day or two short ones to get the sections moved.

Well Nampa is in the mask zone, but who knows if they are actually wearing them.

So, General Painting Question:

I haven't painted anything metal in *counts fingers, counts toes....gets confused* let's say uhh...twenty years.  I don't have any "regular" primer, and will soon be starting the Nativity set for Ma Strawhat.

Do I bite the proverbial bullet and purchase some sort of paint-on primer (spray priming season is over) or will the liners work for metal like they do for plastic?

For metal, you'll definitely need a primer.

Reaper's brush-on works just fine for me; dunno what you've got handy to you.

I'd give them a good soak and scrub in a mild acid, such as lemon juice, followed by a Simple Green bath then paint as usual. What Silverthorne said about primer is good advice.

Addendum:  The acid bath helps to deal with any surface oxidation or oils adhering to the metal surface.

That was the bunny - Grump says it came from Groucho Marx. ::):

I think Jon & Julie heard it from the Muppet Show.

I have no idea where Duncan got it from. Grump and I are nerds. Dunc is a NERD!

I Got Nnja'd!

Sammy has picked up a bad habit, and now we have to keep the bathroom door shut when we take showers,

If we leave the door open, he joins us!

Don't want to punish him for it, he is a dog that LIKES getting a bath, and we don't want to change that.

But he smells like a wet dog, and gets fur in the drain.
