Awesome flick. Always a treat to catch it on tv. Best part for me is the Indian chief & Maverick & their "negotiations"

Beating the guys in the fistfight, then paying them off for taking a dive!

I used that in Eberron. ::P:

I hope everyone is doing great. It is supost to be a raining day here....... while the ground and everything is wet and it is kind of dark and dreary.... it is not raining..... I did not sleep well last night, so tired and very unmodivated to anything. I had to fix fence this morning as the neighbor's dog broke through the fence and killed at least two and ran off an unknown number of my daughter's chickens. I also had to fix the dim light bulb on my truck. Neither of which was difficult, but darn sure not what I wanted to do. anyways, I know life could care less about what I want to do.... maybe I should nap before work.

Maverick is a great movie, only dampened somewhat by the main actor being the turdwaffle that he is.

Ah but this was pre-turdwaffle days, so I'm ok with that. Along with Road Warrior, Lethal Weapon etc etc. After his rant, ehhhh whatever.

Well, my wife and I have tested positive for covid. They do seem to be very mild cases, so right know there's nothing to do except stay home and not interact with people. Really wish it didn't take a lethal plague to accomplish my life goals.

*sigh*

Arguing about ink color with one of my manufacturing centers. They don’t have orange, which is used to mark test only parts CORPORATE WIDE. And they only have black or white.

Decided to force them to get orange. Enough bickering. They can get some overnighted. Like from Staples, for crying out loud. Orange Sharpies are acceptable but apparently that’s too much effort when they have white ink in the cabinet.

I think orange is even an industry standard as well.

Last Wednesday Sephy was exposed to covid by one of her classmates, so she’s been under quarantine since then. This morning we had a test done (quick test). She is negative for covid, but positive for influenza B. Which explains part of why Jason and I feel like garbage right now.

Sephy is fine, of course. Little asymptomatic germ machine

I am going nuts. The plot of land next to us is having a house built on it as far as I can tell. They haven't done more than chop down all the trees in like the year they've been working over there. They decided to leave big chunks of the trees in the plot and they are currently chainsaw-ing them up to get them off the property. They are pretty close to our backyard and I can hear everything. <_<

These are the doldrums of the year for a reason.  The world may not care but we do, and so, I'm sure does your family.  Best we can do is try to make a difference where we can.  Sounds like you are doing your best in that department.  Normally I would recommend 2 weeks on a sun drenched beach but given the current pandemic, that may not be the best solution.  Do take care of yourself!  I hope things improve

little kids:  also known as viral delivery devices.  multiple kids in different schools it a fine study in how immune systems get bolstered and which families share which sibling ages (my HS biology class was, unamused when they discovered I had been using them and their sibs for my final paper ::D:… particularly when I started predicting illness based on family members and school start dates!

well you could stand around the construction site with a big sign that says "I HAVE AN INFECIOUS DISEASE"  and see if that chases them off for a while ::P:

Had to take dad out to the bank today so he could get his signature notarized. Got there to find all of the doors locked, but apparently a worker saw us walking up and came to the door to unlock it. Asked us if we had an appointment. Had no elfing clue that the bank had started doing appointment only for inside services. They can send mail and call the house to try and get us to open new accounts/loans, but not call or send anything to tell us you about new service policies? Wasn't posted on any of the doors either.

Regardless, since they didn't have any other appointments, and we passed their COVID questions (been in contact? tested positive? currently quarantined?) they let us in to get what he needed notarized. Still had to go through the drive-thru tellers to make his deposits though. I understand the need for the question screening, but at the same time I want to ask them the exact same questions.
