Update about what's going on in my life: Good things!

Not exciting: healthy, weight loss is doing good, got first does of vaccine.

Exciting: I GOT A NEW JOB!

A position as a maintenance engineer with a consulting firm. Will have mandates with several companies. Because of my age/experience, I'll be supervising some junior engineers.

Great news!

Congrats!!!

I have incoming water again! (Still thinking I ought to squirrel away a few buckets of snow just in case though)

Good to hear!

Hey all!! Past week was quite busy, but with Monday all my assignments are done and only the big scary final exams are left.

In mini related news, I've put together some Witch Elves and preparing to build my Daughters of Khaine minis for the release of the new Battletome and Endless Spells. I'm really excited but I do hope they don't make this army really terrible to play.

So about a week ago my wife bought our cats one of those fuzzy toys attached to a string and stick you can flip around to get your cats to play. It went over alright as long as we were whipping it around for them to chase. Today one of the cats dragged it into my home office and started crying without dropping the fuzzy toy he was carrying it around by. I grabbed the stick end thinking he wanted to play but he refused to drop the toy part. Instead he kept trying to drag it away from me. So I let go and went back to work. Well he kept crying, still while holding the fuzzy bit firmly in his mouth, and still wouldn't drop the toy when I tried to play with him. This happened a few times until I finally decided to just let him drag me along. So he dragged his toy, with me attached to the stick at the other end of the string, and wandered down 3 floors and into the kitchen where he usually likes to play with his toys. Whereupon he dropped the fuzzy bit and started crying in earnest to be played with.

The cat just led me around the house like a dog on a leash so I'd play with him in his favorite room to run around in. I'm not sure whether to be worried about this sudden display of intelligence or not.

Our cats also have a particular room that they prefer to play in. If we try to initiate playtime anywhere else, the just huff at us and run to that room. We had to change the door handle to a round one so that they couldn't get in and destroy the toys on their own

Speaking of cats, did you know that some can become lawyers?

WHOA WHOA WHOA. They have S75 and GSW in the shop?! We have a big shop nearby that has lots of Reaper figures but no paint. And no GSW or S75 paint stuff around. Gotta go for awful shipping to get those.

I know right?!

Stuff like SC75 was darn near impossible to find in Canada several years ago. Guess things have changed. Maybe its because the shop is a miniatures store first, FLGS second.

I still need to physically visit the store to confirm what that have, because if it's only of the "We can order that for you" kind, I'll be a bit disappointed.

So, I've been running a Rifts game for a while, having sessions once a month. As we're FINALLY wrapping up what was suppose to be a one-shot game, I've been kicking around ideas about what to do next. Well, Humble Bundle did one for After The Bomb and myself and one of the other players picked it up.

Now, I guess I'm running a "Furry Fallout Detectives" game. And there will be a ninja catgirl. Because After The Bomb setting was originally a TMNT expansion...

All of this was to explain to you why I'm posting this picture for you today:

Planning the wind up for the Pink Panther game - last Thursday they managed to foil the duplicitous Inspector in his own plan to purloin the perfidious Pink Panther diamond.

Only to discover, just as the game closed for the night, that the gem was past, and that someone else had already stolen the diamond.

This Thursday's game begins with a talking to by the Captain (the beholder) - the Underfather is... pleased with their efforts, and he believes that the diamond was stolen long before it ever reached the city - and their efforts have unmasked corruption in the other nation's police forces.

What Really Happened: The Underfather knows full well that the diamond reached the city - the museums, the owner, and himself are glad to be shut of the (literally) cursed gem. The entire exhibition was to prepare this moment.

The only losers are the insurance companies, and their attentions are now focused elsewhere.

Who really stole it? Our friend, the female rakshasa - who knows that the diamond is not just cursed, it is a prison for another of their kind, and one best left imprisoned.

It is possible that the PCs, if any get an insanely high Perception check, may notice that she is now wearing a large pink diamond, in a very new setting.

Now that the diamond is in his sister's possession Sharah (bad new rakshasa) will set aside his own plans for the diamond - she is, after all, family.

HOWEVER, Queenpin reenters the picture, convinced that all is not as it seems, and with a bone to pick, with the PCs and Casey, as well as the city at large.

Which, in turn, activates the third beholder in the city - the Editor. (Not evil, somewhat paranoid, and following many, many conspiracy theories - several of which are true, and tie to the Queenpin.) The new owner and chief editor of the city's largest newspaper.

Like Queenpin, shemay cast her many eyes on Casey, but unlike Queenpin, she actually stands a chance - again, she's not evil, and her insanity is displayed primarily by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

Mind you, Casey is thick enough in this regard that he might never notice.

The Auld Grump

If I were better with art scribbling, I would so be sketching 'Small Woman With ENORMOUS Cup of Coffee' right now.

Just sayin'.

The Auld Grump

It is NOT enormous!

It's just the right size.

Homework was kicking my butt. I needed fuel for my jets.

Okay, maybe a pint mug is a trifle on the large side, but it was easier than schlepping back and forth to the pot.

We're alright.

Hope you're okay as well.

Busy week here, between company, sick wife, phone calls that created/exposed wierd stuff...and now since Lady C is down sick too, I am taking her cousin to the airport this afternoon. Since they are forecasting ice later this evening, hoping to make it back and in before it hits. Then temps in the 20s for the next few days...
