Randomness XVII: The Madness of the Quorum

Recommended Posts

A look at February 22nd in history:

  • 1980 – During the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York, the United States hockey team defeated the Soviet Union hockey team 4–3. This would be named the Miracle on Ice as the Soviets had won the gold medal five times in the past six Olympics and were heavy favorites.

  • 2006 – At least six men staged Britain's biggest robbery, stealing £53m (about $92.5 million or €78 million) from a Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent. While five people were convicted of the crime, as of 2016 £32 million had not been recovered.

Yes it counts.

Is this your first post in (?) forever and ago ??  Are you getting rid of the rage-inducing-red or painting brand new red because you need to go faster?

Last month I was posting in the 3d printing stuff, but I haven't been able to print anything lately so haven't been posting.

I'm not getting rid of the red, at least not yet. I'm painting that section with chalkboard paint. It's very tedious, because you've got to let it sit for 2 hours, minimum, between coats and it needs at least 2 coats to work properly. I've got 4 coats so far, because despite sanding the wall down to being smooth the primer and first two coats picked up too much texture from the roller, so I had to hit it with sandpaper to wear it back down, then do it again before the 4th coat. It's still not as smooth as I'd like it to be, but since I don't have a power sander and am doing it by hand it's just going to have to do.

Now I'm supposed to wait at least 22 more hours before trying to actually write on it...

That's because your weather broke it's leash and wandered down south. You really should come and take it home, y'know.

Weren't you the one asking people to send you snow?

Granted I was trying to summon some myself, and it came after a bit of a delay, but that was only intended for my part of the world. And I might have been doing a bit too much research into Ithaqua and Wendigo lore during a time when I had a bit of odd synchronicity going on...and greater Wendigo do tend to travel in snow storms...

But I wasn't the one asking the snow to go to Texas...although this whole thing very well might be the work of the Necromancers of Canada seeking to expand South and running into the Dread Might of the Cheese Lords of Wisconsin with odd side effects...

New spell miniatures not very easy to assemble. Spent quite a few hours, way more than I expected, building them. The Viper's still not finished but the Bladewind Vortex is done and looks pretty nice. I think the Iron Heart of Khaine will be easier and I hope I can get some Witch Elves assembled.

Interestingly enough the brown skin painting recipe in the Daughters of Khaine battletome is pretty much the same I wanted to use for my miniatures, which is a nice coincidence.

Hoping everyone is well especially in these tough times.

Maybe, it's ten to four at the moment. I'm usually on my forth cup by now.....

It's four after ten and I am just getting started.

And it's already up to 40F!  Goodbye snow, hello spring!
