Weren't you the one asking people to send you snow?

Granted I was trying to summon some myself, and it came after a bit of a delay, but that was only intended for my part of the world. And I might have been doing a bit too much research into Ithaqua and Wendigo lore during a time when I had a bit of odd synchronicity going on...and greater Wendigo do tend to travel in snow storms...

But I wasn't the one asking the snow to go to Texas...although this whole thing very well might be the work of the Necromancers of Canada seeking to expand South and running into the Dread Might of the Cheese Lords of Wisconsin with odd side effects...

I said SNOW, not snow/ice/sleet/ the mess that we got.

However, out of respect for my new neighbors, I hereby rescind my request for snow.

.....'till next year.

Announcing the arrival of Baby Hamster!

I said goodbye to Lucy this afternoon. It was time. She went peacefully.   She was a good girl.

The lovely piece I commissioned from @kristof65's wife arrived safely!            EDIT: This picture doesn't show it, but some of the glass pieces are iridescent.

Well, that and Irn Bru, otherwise known as "Scotland's other national drink" :poke:

Okay, points for honesty.  that stuff doesn't even pretend to be connected to any natural flavor:  created by a chemical company to get rid of byproducts and looking like rust dissolved in vinegar, that is a truly unique national drink...

and explains a lot about the high quantity of whiskey consumed in the country! ::D:

Next time, tell your subconscious to get you vaccinated in Salisbury Cathedral, it's a lot roomier there :)

So far its been even odds as to whether or not i get to tell my subconscious what to do.  Sometimes it will listen to reason, other times it has something to say and i will have to listen!.  I will say that for the most part, my subconscious has an amazing special effects budgets.  Talk about full sensory immersion.  I have slept through alarms because my brain talked me into believing that was a warning or an alarm in the dream and i had to deal with it in the dream world.

I have also woken up and been truly upset to discover that this is the waking continuity and not the dream i was in.  Like almost to tears disappointed...

Can confirm, @Kangaroorex make epic biscuits!

Thank you!  I appreciate the endorsement!

Tonight brought about the end of one of my nemesis:  Sea Bass

I have had this in resturants before and the flavor can be stunningly magical.  it can also taste like someone left a crab in acid for a week.  while at the grocery store on this week i was going to get some halibut and then i noticed that the sea bass was on sale for the same price as the halibut so i thought i would give it a try.  aaannnndddd SUCCESS!  Managed a wonderful crisp pan sear and the actual meat was that beautiful almost crystalline texture i have been looking for.

Of course, now that i have succeeded, i will probably not do it again because its too expensive, but its been an occasional fun challenge.

Never let players that are too clever by half roleplay planning sessions. I'm running Rise of the Runelords for four of my group, when the other two are busy, and tonight they set about planning an attack on the main goblin base. It's a major affair, and their plan, which is so crazy it just might work, cuts out like half of the preparation I already put into it. Now I have to come up with a cunning plan to if not foil, at least disrupt their cunning plan.

This is an example of MURPHY'S LAW in action.

Last month I was posting in the 3d printing stuff, but I haven't been able to print anything lately so haven't been posting.

I'm not getting rid of the red, at least not yet. I'm painting that section with chalkboard paint. It's very tedious, because you've got to let it sit for 2 hours, minimum, between coats and it needs at least 2 coats to work properly. I've got 4 coats so far, because despite sanding the wall down to being smooth the primer and first two coats picked up too much texture from the roller, so I had to hit it with sandpaper to wear it back down, then do it again before the 4th coat. It's still not as smooth as I'd like it to be, but since I don't have a power sander and am doing it by hand it's just going to have to do.

Now I'm supposed to wait at least 22 more hours before trying to actually write on it...

For future reference for anyone else attempting this, after sanding the surface one or two sealer coats, with sanding in between, of a neutral color surface sealant will give you a fully prepped surface, almost as good as tempered masonite to apply your chalk board paint to.

THIRD CUP OF TEA!

You keep count?

I have basically one cup of tea that starts shortly after I get up and ends shortly before I go to bed.

Of course, that "one cup" will use up two to three 5 cup coffee makers full of hot water.

The saga of developing a new property draws one series of steps closer to completion.

Post Office has put our street address on the postal route, and I managed to get the mailbox installed streetside.

Propane setup will be done on Friday except for setting the tank annd charging the system.

Water system is nearly complete and the major holdup is still Nevada Energy pulling the lines from the power pole and settting the meter.

Maybe, it's ten to four at the moment. I'm usually on my fourth cup by now.....

I am just now having some green tea, from a bottle, at room temperature; it has been 21 hours 53 minutes since the last time I had any food.

You'd think I would be hungry.

But no.

I was in a dentist's chair about then. My face was just starting to go numb.

N.B: the needles dentists use are much worse than the needles used for the coronavirus vaccine. Much, much, worse.

So, that was my Monday.

Hopefully better than my trip to the dentist.

Man. Every time I try to talk to the peeps on our AL Discord about doing something a little different, get outside the box a little, it is met with... deafening silence. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If I posted about starting a game like I did today literally anywhere else I'd be inundated with responses. They don't know me well enough to know what a turd I am, so it's not that. I guess I could just holler at total strangers on the Internet, but I was trying to avoid that tbh. I think I've said something before about how this group is really hard to get interested in things beyond the Thursday-night plug-'n'-play, that even just getting a good discussion going is an uphill battle, and I guess this is simply more of the same. But it's disappointing. And kinda weird.

My estranged wife said she'd like to play tho, and I've got this one fantasy where we game our way back to a happy marriage, so I guess I can fixate on that for a while now.

From what you describe you've got a bunch of people in such a rut the ends are starting to close in.

It's too bad because just a slight bit of inquisitiveness or willingness to explore what's just on the other side of the line that defines the box could make their individual and collective worlds so much more interesting.

It's most likely not you, just a bunch of people stuck in a place where they are "comfortable" enough they don't want to entertain any change.

With respect to your ex, just maintaining a friendship is a good starting point.

This bit sounds a little like Mr. Thorne and I trying to get people to try The Dark Eye.

Or, really, anything that isn't PF or 5e.

It's really hard to dredge up any excite about new systems/settings/any combination thereof when suggestions are met with dead air. :/

You know it's getting close to that timeframe when you're refreshing the online payroll documentation site every day, or even inadvertently twice a day.  I could just wait it out until Friday or even next Monday, but I'd rather get that paperwork ~now~, even though they don't have to get it to me until next Monday....

I swear it totally isn't at all related to my sheer desire to order parts for a new computer rig, a new assembly desk, and several other things...

Is Tempered Masonite crazy expensive?  (Were it me, I would have considered just nailing a piece of it to that wall.)
