No worries, soaking the cat in beer is not the same as giving them a beer to drink. He appears to have forgiven me though. That or he is just biding his time and plotting some sort of elaborate revenge.

Definitely revenge.

I'm also very curious. I'd certainly try it, but I'm not sure I'd pay for the... privilege.

I agree. I'm pretty open minded and will try most things. If it's highly questionable, I'll probably still try it, but I'm not gonna PAY to do so.

So after visiting another apartment yesterday, I've made my choice to where I'll be moving.

Price is very good ($550CDN/month) and location is good (under 10 minute drive to the office building, and 5 minutes from most essential services). Two bedroom apartment, second floor, parking is plowed, hot water included. The size is about equal to what I have. Unless I messed up my measurements, it's a tad smaller, but the room and wall arrangements are much better so it will feel bigger.

If there's one downside, it's that it's facing mostly northward, so I'll only get a bit of direct sunlight at the end of the day.

So I contacted the owner, and agreed on the lease terms. So starting this Monday, I have a new place to crash in. Even though I'll only formally move in in April.

This means my Bones 5 shipment address needs an update.

New pasta idea: Reaperoni.

Y'know, for years I've been thinking it would have been a brilliant marketing ploy to sell D&D to kids to make "Ral Pasta" - little pasta bits in fun official AD&D monster shapes...

Edit: "Ral Pasta" is also the term I use to refer to all those miniature lots on EvilBuy where they're selling like 200 miniatures but only have one or two pictures of the whole mess sitting jumbled together in a box....

A few things that happened on Feb 25th:

  • 1951 – The first Pan American Games were officially opened in Buenos Aires by Argentine President Juan Perón.

  • 1956 – In his speech On the Cult of Personality and Its Consequences, Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union, denounced Joseph Stalin.

  • 1991 – The Warsaw Pact was disbanded at a meeting of its members in Budapest.

This bit sounds a little like Mr. Thorne and I trying to get people to try The Dark Eye.

Or, really, anything that isn't PF or 5e.

It's really hard to dredge up any excite about new systems/settings/any combination thereof when suggestions are met with dead air. :/

I've always wanted to to try the Dark Eye.  My old gaming group used to try all sorts of new games in the before times.

Long time Deadlands forever Marshal here. Try on my boots sometime. <_<

And since we're talking about Deadlands, let me show you a Huckster:

Another game that I've never had the chance to play but wanted to.

Sounding a lot like my group.  I send out messages and get no response, can't generate any enthusiasm or chatter about the game. Even had one player rage quit because I asked folks to RSVP if they still wanted to play.   Despite that, they show up for the game.  Doing it online has actually improved attendance and people being on time.

I've got a different problem for a change.  I've got one player worried that their character class is too strong or broken (Twilight domain cleric) and another that wants to pick a particular feat (Fey Touched) but is concerned that he doesn't yet have good in game/role playing reason to acquire it.  So my players are super engaged.  I guess that they are leveling up as players.

I have to admit that is a powerful clerical domain. I made up a npc dwarf cleric for my Saturday games & thought even at 5th level, it has some amazing abilities. After realizing, the area the players were heading into, automatically killed dwarves....whoops (no dwarf PCs so no worries about getting around that), I ended up just making a silver dragonborn life cleric of Selune. Probably better as they needed all the healing they could get, even with the addtion of a 5th player to the game.

Picked up some pretty cool adventures off DMs Guild this morning. Since Fat Dragon released anther KS file, I went ahead & picked up the newest Baldman Games trilogy. I'll finally get to use the "dark dwarves" including the larger version from Reaper!! Party gets to meet a young farm girl clutching a doll. While they don't fight her I still would like to have something to represent her as she might factor into a battle later, but I picked up awhile back this file:

I already had a adventure the wardrobe is a encounter (poltergeist, closed version thou I may add a illusionary ability just to use the arms, ^_^). I even get to use firbolgs!!

Got 18” of snow. The forecast was for 3”. Bad part of my job working from home is no snow days. Daughter is off from school, and the DMV cancelled my appointment so I have to make another that’s going to be weeks out. I hate driving around with expired dealer tags, but I have seen some that expired last August so it really isn’t being enforced.

Now, creepy story time.

I am not someone who believes in past lives, but a video yesterday has me wondering. It was a video discussing the history of the winter of 1880/81. Deep snow across the midwest. Cool, yeah? Laura Ingalls Wilder even wrote a book on it. Started watching and my anxiety levels pegged the meter! I did NOT want to keep watching. I was full on panic mode, and the History Guy hadn’t even got to the start of the story, which was the sudden blizzard that covered up all the unharvested crops.

That date was my birthday.

Separated by several decades, of course. But that doubled the willies for me. Had a hard time finishing that vid.
