Light the effigies, congregate to left.

No,no, no, no. There'll be no burning of effigies here.

Tarring and feathering, on the other hand....

I hope everyone is doing good. I found my old space marine army for 40k. I had been going to start a Guard regiment, but I think I play marines for a while while a start up a new guard army. jusyt not \sure if I want to keep the marines the color that they are, or if I should repaint them. I do have to some work on putting them back together, but I really do ot want to have to repaint them as well.

Having seen the pics, I kinda think you should maybe just do some touch ups to the paint job.

Worked 10 hrs last night thanks to the 3rd guy deciding he liked the floor more then standing. I have no idea if he actually fainted or not but he said he needed to take a 10 min break to see if his head would clear. Afterwards he was still woozy, so I just sent him home. I didn't want to deal with him. He did say it was related to his heart as he has a heart condition that he wears a monitor for....lovely. Young kid, probably early 20s too.

I figured he wanted to keep his streak alive as it's a new month. I feel sorry for my co-worker next week, but I did say to the bosses, if you need me, call me. Thou, I did say I'm not coming in on Sunday due to I already ordered that AEW PPV  & I have no idea what time it'll get over at. With that I didn't get home till around 11 this morning & didn't get to bed till about noon. I woke about an hour ago. I'm deciding whether or not to go out for dinner with my wife or not. Crappy way to start my vacation. Hopefully tomorrow with game day will be better.

We ended up going to dinner tonight. Good to eat out at prob my 2nd favorite place. People were coming in, too so at least thr place hasn't lost it customer base. They even had people eating out on the patio outside.

Afterwards stopped at the flgs (as evidence shown in the Aquistions thread). Friday night Magic under social distancing/mask rules, good to see life in the store again.

Found out about my gf9 order. It appears the distributor cancelled the order during quarantine last year. Owner said he'd place it again but I told him to hold off, as currently I have no intentions to run Icewind Dale. Off the hook for that order too.

Before I left I asked him what was up with the D&D gaming & he explained since he needed to have someone in the backroom(paid), he might as well just have that person be the DM + due to COVID rules, everything has to be on the projector/computer & other distancing rules in place.

While I'm upset with that decision  & I'm also ok with that reason. I told him I'm a DM & not a player, so I wouldn't be joining. That & 10 bucks per session each month adds up. (I didn't mention that last part, just well yah it is.)

am really, really, REALLY hoping that Disney never does to ENG what they did to Aladdin, and make a live action/CG abomination of it.

See, I actually liked the live action version of Alladin. I thought Will Smith did a really good genie (though my brain kept expecting to hear Robin Williams singing), I thought the stuff they added was pretty good (except Jasmine’s song, which just didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the songs), and I really liked the actors they got for Alladin and Jasmine.

Now, Beauty and the Beast, couldn’t stand that. And I knew I wasn’t gonna like from the very beginning when Emma Thompson said “for who could ever learn to love a beast” wrong.

Exams are over!! Unfortunately, multiple walks to and from the exam hall in the heat gave me a cold. Better now, but hope the heat doesn't kick my butt this weekend.

Hoping everyone is doing well!

I've sworn off of buying new models until May when my final exams are over. I think the new Warhammer Quest and Lumineth stuff is coming out then, so the wallet is far from safe. Of course, there's the Daughters of Khaine that need to be expanded....

The wallet winces with despair!

Not sure why, but it took a decent amount of effort/willpower to write a message to one vendor asking a few questions about things I'm uncertain on.  Feels weird, but at the same time, they literally say right on their website to ask if new to resin conversion kits, so I figured why not give them a shout about it.

Either way, a small part of me is all "wait, are we seriously about to get into resin conversion kits for gunpla already?" while most of me is looking forward to having something that will readily fill that particular painting void I've wanted filled for quite some time - mechs that are 7-8" tall to paint and display, and I'd say Master Grade gunpla kits definitely fall into that bracket...

Yknow, because I already didn't have my painting desk full of Infinity minis, a tank, some other stuff, and of course all those boxes in the bedroom waiting their turn on the desk and then the airbrush booth...

Your daily dose of trivia about the happenings on March 6th:

  • 1521 – Ferdinand Magellan arrived at Guam while leading the voyage to circumnavigate the world.

  • 1869 – Dmitri Mendeleev presented the first periodic table to the Russian Chemical Society.

  • 1899 – Bayer registered "Aspirin" as a trademark.

  • 1964 – Boxing champion Cassius Clay was officially given the name Muhammad Ali.

I agree that the casting for Alladin and Jasmine was pretty good. And Will Smith could have been good as the Genie if he'd been allowed to make the character his own. As it was he was doing too much of Robin Williams' Genie. I think he did it much more his own style in Crosswalk: the Musical

Inconceivable!!!

Yes, you're very smart. Shut up.

RVE yesterday was fun, though I didn't get to participate in any of the classes I signed up for. I got to watch/listen to them, but the Hamsterling made anything else impossible. Hoping for better luck (and some help from Mrs. Hamster) today.

COFFEE!!

Do they only run one table? Can you still run a game? Is the player base big enough to support it? At my FLGS they usually had 7-9 D&D games running on Wednesday nights.

Oooooooo!

I just checked out the new Bones stuff, and those Viceroy Enforcers look absolutely awesome! (But what's up with their bases?)

If only I had time to paint these days...

SUMMER!!!

Their bases? You mean that they're slotta bases and not broccoli? Personally, I'm a fan.
