Even better was the background music "Shot in the Dark" by AC/DC. Funny stuff. https://www.motor1.com/news/447071/dodge-talladega-nights-commercial/ Huh. I have seen the inexplicable, edited down, short (15 or 30 secs) version of that. I just sort of went hmpf, stunt driving, Dodge logo, ....they want me to buy a car ...again. Never got anywhere near noticing a movie reference.
ManvsMini
Did you know that on this day in history, March 11th, the following happened? 1851 – The first performance of the opera Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi took place in Venice. 1911 – Sir Fitzroy Maclean, 1st Baronet, Scottish general and politician, was born. It is speculated he may have been the inspiration (or one of many) for Ian Fleming's character James Bond. 1941 – United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Lend-Lease Act into law, allowing American-built war supplies to be shipped to the Allies on loan. 9

Granted, the timeline is bunked up as there were no Hellcats (at least current ones) in the 80s but the "Shake n Bake" maneuver was something Will Farrell & John C Reily's characters did in the movie (just not as extreme) + the actual actor playing Farrell's dad in the movie as well.

I suggest some sausage gravy to go on those, though the hamsterling might not sleep long enough to give you time to make both biscuits and gravy.

We'll see if I can't do it faster next time. COFFEE!
Colonel Kane
Morning all, I hope everyone is getting their coffee and things are going either well or getting better. GEM, I know it is a bit early for to be ' getting better' , but I do hope cathy is finding some good sleeping positions. I have never had a broken bone, so I do not know what it is like, but can imagine. My GURPS game grew by one. There is still openings, but they will either fill or not. I do not mind new players. GURPS is intimadating, but I feel it is a great system. I hope your day goes great, or as well as it can. Sometimes that is all we can hope for. 7

Ok I think for now that spot will remain bare. Spendy for a doormat + shipping on top of that. I already "pay" for shipping each month with Big A, I don't need more tacked on to it. Neat design plus there were other designs I found as well, but I'll stick with local if I ever get one.

Something that doesn't require any technical thinking or competency.". Sad part is that this particular lady is fairly competent with tech stuff. She just doesn't like to listen, nor does she communicate well. For example, she wanted to use a brand new feature that that was part of a suite of new features that hadn't been documented yet. Rather than wait for documentation, she experimented, and got it mostly working. A couple months in, it wasn't working right, and so she started working with a tech to try and get it working right. This tech worked as a go between between her and the engineer for 10 months trying to get it working right. Then the tech left for another job, and the issue got passed to the other two in house techs. They made even less headway with her and the engineer - from her viewpoint it wasn't working right and from the engineer's viewpoint it should have been. I was finally pulled in to assist 2 months later after one of the in house techs blew up at her. I started from the beginning, and one of the first things I asked her in my initial emails was:"What is your intent for using this feature? What are you trying to do? Don't send me your settings, I just want to know what you want to accomplish, in plain English." Her response was to send me screen shots of her settings. When I emailed her again and restated the question, her response was to call me wanting to go over her settings one by one. Once I finally got her to state her intended use in plain English, I was able to figure out that she should have been using a different feature from that suite. Got her working inside a week, the bulk of which was spent trying to figure out what she was trying to do and then how to convert over what she had already done. The entire year of troubles before was simply because she insisted on making it about the settings, not what she was trying to do. 7 1

Green Eyed Monster
So what do you do with an older lady who is used to having things mostly her own way insists on taking off the immobilization sleeve while I'm sleeping "because it's uncomfortable"? Number One Daughter Unit and I are in accord with recognizing her, lets just call it, Portugee hard headed streak. I've explained to her in my best Dutch Uncle lecture mode [plus pleading] that if she doesn't keep it on the breaks won't heal either quickly or properly and that she will be in greater pain for longer as a result. If I seem like I'm venting, you're right. Frustrated and nearly at my wits end. GEM 11
