77387: Lanelle, Half-Elf Rogue

Recommended Posts

I've had this mini based and ready to paint for, um, at least six months.  She came as part of the 2018 Christmas stocking (along with Juliette).  Painting this mini has been difficult because I have been strongly inclined to mimic this paint job and I want to do something unique.  So... here's what I've got:

Only her face, hair, and leather tunic have blending.  The rest of her gear is basecoated (or undercoated for the metals).  The ground is only primed.

Things I see should be fixed:

  • Her right eye (again - what you see here is attempt #5)
  • Some of the highlighting on her tunic needs to be blended better and possibly dimmed (particularly around her chest and under her right arm)

What do you think so far?  Is there anything else you think should be changed or worked on?

Looks fine to me.

Maybe a little wash on the handles of the swords.

I got to paint maybe three or four hours this week.  The rest of the leathers have shadows and highlights.  The shoulder ridges have bright highlights that need to be brought down but that happens.

I still need to fix her right eye.  The left side of her face has a blemish that should be fixed too.

Otherwise, it's furs, cords, stitches, metals, and the base left.  I was hoping to finish this mini in May but, alas, it was not to be.  (How am I ever going to paint my hoard if it takes weeks to paint minis?)

That's easy, just do what I do.

While painting one mini from the hoard, you also order or print a dozen more.

We're doomed, I know.

Good job!

About everything should be done now except for the metals and the base:

The metals and base are only basecoated right now.
