Getting to Know You, JUNE by Glitterwolf

This is kind of complicated. I chose the profession but then later found out I am not actually able to work in that profession due to disability. I have been cooking at home, much more, recently though. Which I haven't done in quite some time due to life and other resons. We are doing one of those meal boxes where they send you what you need and you just follow the recipe.

Tonight's dinner: Dijon butter steak with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. We had a few problems with cookery (steak a little rare for my tastes but edible, potatoes needed more seasoning, and roasted the brussel sprouts a little too long) and timing but it came out okay. So far our least favorite of the four five wev'e had.

Oooh, that answers my wondering curiosity about whether the menu is the same up here as it is down there... I remember seeing that, but didn't want to get Hello Fresh and Chef's Plate on the same week.

No, I will not trade it. Not a high enough value for a year, not by a long shot.

I agree with @Cyradis.

Although depending on how you look at it, I already have. Since I spent 20 years in the Navy,  I'll take my $600,000 now, please.

I dunno, probably not though.

I suspect things would go all "Twilight Zone" and after I cashed in 10 years or so, I'd immediately get hit by a car or fall down the stairs and die because it would turn out that that was all my remaining lifespan.

Well given that cashing in one year would not cover my living expenses for one year, 0.

I would not,

Well, maybe at the gentle age of 95 I would trade in 5 years so my family could get the money while I say goodbye..

I'm curious at how or why you settled on this specific dollar amount.

Heck no, have you SEEN the value of the Canadian dollar??

Now if it was in Euros or USD, that might be more enticing......

But I'd consider paying $15k to just skip the rest of this year and wake up tomorrow morning and it be Jan 1st, 2021.....

No amount of money is worth having less time around with my wife and kids.

Nope, that's not nearly enough. Besides, I plan on dying at 103 in a hang gliding accident. Or something equally stupid for an old man to be doing.

I'm only kind of joking here. The men in my family all live in to their 90's and above and more than a few of them died while enjoying something they should have given up on decades before. Looking forward to it!

I'd be more likely to do the reverse. You can always find a way to make more money but it's much harder to add years to your life.

Don't waste them.

Welcome to Getting to Know You, .February 2020 Edition.

The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 12:00 hours CET. ( Central European Time)
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
