Awww, that's unfortunate.  Allergies suck; I'm glad I don't have any anymore.

It's fine, I have no adverse reactions to Scotch, Rum, or Tequila. ::D:

Question June 2nd.

What is one thing you're glad you tried but would never do again?

Several things from culinary school come to mind. Raw oysters for one.

The other is a combination of melted duck fat and white chocolate. Not as gross as you might think, but not good and a tragic waste of duck fat. They look the same when cold so that was a great lesson on why you should label every thing, every time.

Oh and squab (pidgeon). Tastes like liver, which I also do not care for.

Nothing really, other then it's like drinking a pine tree.

These make much more sense now....

I actually got really sick after drinking gin the first time.  I also react very badly to getting pricked by juniper needles.  I suspect that I am allergic to something in Juniper and so I reacted badly to something in the Gin.

My housemate is allergic to most alcohol, they get the hangover as soon as they start drinking. It's very odd.

See, you said never, so I can't really answer that.  I've tried many things and didn't enjoy them. However, I can't say "never again."

Different circumstances, different people, different me could all be factors in making the experience into one I might enjoy.

Many things I thought I disliked or didn't enjoy have been tried again with more favorable results.

Stuff I've done that made sense at the time but would rather never have to do again.

  • College partying.
  • Almond milk; coconut mil; rice milk; soy milk; etc. All of the "pretend milks" just taste awful and have horrible texture.
  • Roller coasters. I just don't find them thrilling. But they shake my bones bad. I'm looking at you Space Mountain!
  • Surgery. Very happy I had them, would rather avoid them anyway. Sadly, I know to expect more as I age (like my mechanical heart valve, or pacemaker battery that will need replacing).
  • Staying awake for over 24, even 48 hours. My "record" being 72 hours. After 48 hours awake, your brain starts seeing things it shouldn't, and it takes more than one night's sleep to get over it.

hmmm...I can't think of anything that is a definite NEVER again, because circumstances could dictate otherwise.

However if I have any say in the matter 160km/h (100mph) in a 2-ton pickup is high up the list of something that I'm glad I tried (had to get into town quickly....I thought the vehicle topped out at 145km/h) and hope to never have to do again

Others mentioned various alcohols, so I'm going to go with...

- Rum OR Rye. Never again. No thanks, I don't want to wind up in the basement of the hospital, thank you (I'm rather allergic to such).  At least not because of alcohol.  I'd much sooner it be because I said something like "hey guys, watch this!" and actually did something neat.

So yeah, I suppose the use of the phrase "hey guys watch this!" is probably also a never ever thing for me too, since waaay too many people have such as their last words..

Tough question.

I agree with Ladystorm on this one: I'm one to do/try a thing more than once before I declare that it's no good.

I am feeling personally attacked here.  Y'all are listing all sorts of things I love doing!

What's next?  Someone hates karaoke, exercise, or middle eastern food? ::P:

I concur on Gin, though perhaps there is some other purpose it could be used for.

Though I haven't been adventurous recently I do like to try different foods.  At this point I've kind of lost track, but there are a number of meals I'm unlikely to have a second time.

I may have a similar problem with Tequila.

Welcome to Getting to Know You, NOVEMBER 2020 Edition.

The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 12:00 hours CET. ( Central European Time)
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

By Velrock on Thingiverse.  I used a lighter winter color scheme for the pack.  I know they look all cute and fluffy but they are really vicious hunters.  I did these three as part of my July 4th holiday weekend Paint Binge.

I used a combination of Secret Weapon bases and base inserts.
