Whoa, that's a beautiful old sculpt! Great job painting her, especially her face and white dress.

I also like the way the gravel looks like a mix of light and dark stones. It's an unusual place to have that kind of contrast. Really cool. :winkthumbs:

Thank you CorallineAlgae!

For the gravel, I just glue down corn meal, and then give it coat of earth brown, then a dark shadow and a dark elf shadow wash. After that I highlight it with Terran Khaki, creamy ivory and finally white.

She's awesome indeed, the bright dress is a good choice.

Thanks Glitterwolf, a bit of contrast with her boots and cloak.

Awesome.

Thank you Loim, an early sculpt by the master Tom Meier!

Really lovely work on her face, and I like the color on her cloak.  You brought out the best in this figure.

Thanks Inarah, it actually helped that I only had to paint one eye!

I love it too.  The cloak looks fantastic.  I also love the little white dot on the lower lip, something I did myself for the first time on my most recent mini (succubus), inspired by one of yours!  The miniature is only two years younger than me!

I’m glad you could use the little white dot, always a nice little detail!

i wish I could say the same, but I’m about eight years older than this dainty little lady!

Lovely work on an old sculpt. The face (eyes, lip reflections) is very good. The whites are also well rendered. I enjoy the contrast between cloak inside and outside, too.

Overall awesome work. I have to admit I am amazed Tom Meier didn't start out with A-grade sculpts, but I guess even masters develop over time.

Thanks Peithetairos!

Everybody has a beginning, and if I understand correctly from some videos I've seen, Tom Meier started out sculpting in his teen-age years, grabbing green stuff pretty much by accident.  That was in the seventies, so now years later, when you look at his stuff, I usually get happily blown away. I always love checking out his news stuff on Dark Sword for example, periodically batches of his minis show up there.

Don't know if you would have seen this video or not yet?
