They are all great, a lovely combination of Grenadier and Partha!
Kangaroorex
Not the best shots in the world but I can guarantee they are probably the oldest pictures I have of my early minis. Most of the actual minis have been lost to time In particular, if anyone can identify the mini of the chariot in the lower left, if be appreciative Oh the picture was originally taken in 1984... I think. Edited June 22, 2020 by Kangaroorex Added date
Glitterwolf
@Kangaroorex I would love to, but the pic is too small/unclear there. Maybe you can describe it? What is the animal pulling it? How many animals? Wood or metal chariot? What does the driver/handler look like? One or two crew? If possible brand/scale?

Dr.Bedlam
I am faintly irritated that everyone else's first minis are better than MY first mini was.

The first picture are my very first minis ever and the next was done about four months later. My favorite mini that I'm most proud of is my kraken that I posted here a while ago. I painted it about a year ago. (I've done other things I'm pretty proud of since then I just don't currently have photos.) ETA: My current favorite mini I've done is probably Mossbeard Treeman. Spoiled for large pictures. Spoiler Edited June 23, 2020 by SparrowMarie
badgermaniac
No pictures to share, but I was going through my old Grenadier D&D Learn to Paint Box. Most figures were not touched, a couple were started and a couple were "done". As I looked at them through today's eyes, they looked salvageable, as they were color blocked pretty well. So, with a quick hit of wash, a couple touch-ups, some rudimentary highlighting, etc. they are certainly presentable. Good job 13 year old me. The ones that make me shudder more are my early Descent miniatures, which are what brought modern me back into the hobby. Now, some of that is a slightly smaller scale, plus a few models with pretty poor detail, but even then, as I compare them to my current Descent figures (still working my way through), I don't even want to play with the older ones. As a perfectionist, it might be more bothersome to look at my old ones than it is to appreciate my more recent ones and I am close to stripping down a few and starting those first batches again.

Rob Dean
My first miniatures painted were Airfix plastics done with Humbrol enamels (and bad brushes) which flaked off at the slightest provocation. They are long since lost to history...
golldan
Had to dig mine out... From 1980 Ral Partha game - Caverns Deep. Painted with Testor's enamel, and those two funky white plastic handled Testor's paint brushes. Most of the original 20 have their weapons broken off. ChumBucket
The two on the right are my first and second, the one on the left is my GF's first mini. I feel fortunate that I got into painting minis in a time where youtube tutorials exist. Still have a long way to go though.
WhiteWulfe
Not my first, but it's the first one I painted when I got back into painting, so close enough in my eyes... Next to my second most recently finished mini...

That first mini got painted on, built, repaired, and weapon-swapped …not quite in that order. Then it got incorporated into a D&D encounter. And later it went home with its owner. No one knew then there would be this whole hobby involving displaying and photographing the things. Long since lost touch with that bloke. ( I would be brave enough to show it if I had a picture of it. To answer the original inquiry. ) The second mini I painted. I can at least do like @72moonglum with number 2. (Go find a picture of one snapped by someone else.) RaL Partha Wyvern** If I remember rightly the integrated circular base is about the size of a US quarter coin. I used some Humbrol Enamels on it / her / him. ( **Was this sold back in the day as a cockatrice or a wyvern?? I have wyvern stuck in my memory banks but those are dodgy at their best.) I found a painted one! This used to be in a Gallery on the Ral Partha webpage but the link to it is dead (…it's dead Jim.) TGP
I did not want that to double post….. …so, this space reserved for if I ever find mine. Mine had green wings but I think the beak was yellow. Meanwhile: Nice red colour scheme found, not mine either, but too good to pass up posting it.
