Whoa, this guy rocks! That unearthly grey skin looks so nice against the rich brown fur. The combo is a touch otherworldly. It also looks like you used the beast's own colors on the base. Gives off the impression that he's in his element, and somehow adds to the threatening feel of the figure. :grr:

The mini itself is fantastic. Such a menacing pose. The casual way he's holding that weapon screams confidence. Coolest monster sculpt I've seen in a while. Your paint job shows off all of it's best features, though I think the wrist bands might look better if they were darker. Like dark iron shackles. Not sure that would work with the rest of the composition though, unless there were darker areas on the base as well. Either way, love it love it!

This mini reminded me of something and I just remembered what it was. There was a demon named Goshinki on a show called InuYasha. That thing was one of the most heartless and dangerous enemies in the whole series. It actually bit the hero's magical sword in half with it's teeth. The monster was so powerful that, after it was defeated, another demon took the creature's head and used it's teeth to forge a crazy powerful demon sword that was so evil none of the heroes would even touch it. No wonder I find this mini so menacing! ::P:

Thank you so much.

I painted his wrist bands with P3 Pig Iron to keep them muted, I fear if I went darker than that ( Scale 75 Black Metal crossed my mind) the wrist bands would blend in too much with his skin.

Also I choose Iron because I felt Silver would be like a hostile element to him.

Happy you love it!

That sounds like a real monster.

The sculpt is from Gloomykid, I printed it.

He's got some free samples and this is one of them, can you imagine?

Free..such a great sculpt.

I also have other free stuff and bought some files from him on Myminifactory as well.

The Merfolk warrior and Elvira the Vampire I painted earlier are also Gloomykid STL's

The World of 3D printing is a wonderful addition to the mini hobby.

Only drawback is that I have been printing so much my pile of unpainted stuff is getting out of hand..

One of my favorite Fantasy races are the Undead, followed by Chaos and Reptilians.
I already have my Lost World Project which tells a tale of Conquistadores, Reptilians, Dinosaurs, and a lot more. And has some Undead in Jungle and or Pirate style in it.
My Shifting Sands project is all about Undead, Arabian and Egyptian style Undead.

This thread will be filled with my beloved Gothic Undead, Demons, Monsters and all things that go bump in the night.
In my Lost World Project I tell an ongoing story, here I will post about all other dark things without coherency.
There might be snippets of loose stories to accompany a mini or not...

I hope you guys and gals and creatures will like it.

Let's kick off with the critters I painted a while ago to get a feel of what is coming.

      Enjoy! ( or not)

Bats and a Murder of Crows

EDIT: I will include some Bones and minis. The bulk will be metal and I want to give the project an oldschool vibe/.
Preferred minis will be, Reaper, Grenadier, Ral Partha, Rafm, Metal Magic, Otherworld and Early Citadel.
The Asian Undead will be from Zenith since I backed the Kensei Undead Samurai KS and will get their own thread.  ( Nippon, Land of the Rising Moon) and the Egyptian ones are in Shifting Sands Project)

EDIT: Since the 3D printing bug bit me, the bulk will probably become 3d printed now.

EDIT - Asked to merge my Undead Threads into one.
      Now CHILDREN of the NIGHT.

This is for all the Ghotic Undead and their friends like Werewolves/Witches/Demons etc etc..

      Eldessa Necromancer

      Ral Partha Female Vampire

      Lurien and Aysa

      Bat Demon

Hey everyone, here comes another set of Mousling. This on is 01512, Mousling Zombie. It was part of Reaper Artist Con 2010 Special Edition Figures sculpted by Gene Van Horne.

One of the first figures I pulled out of the Bones5 core set was this guy. Had fun doing him in non traditional colors.

The flash made him look a little brighter than it really is.

Picked up a few of these a year or two ago and am slowly getting them painted.  They have a different feel from Reaper's usual models.

Sister vampire in a different color scheme.

Classic old school vampiress sculpt by Sandra Garrity.  Rawr!  She's a bit petite by current standards, so I built up her base just a bit.  But, oh, how that cloak flies!  And the ruffles edges on her shroud gown!

I did the back in a cooler purple:
