There was a conference in September that was supposed to have been staying with us. I was glad that we had full capacity, but the conference booked the entire hotel without us having rooms for anyone else, and the coordinator who set it up decided to email everyone in the country to call us to book that day, instead of giving them a list that broke down who should call which hotel for booking. Our phones were ringing off the hook so much that even with calling everyone in, we still couldn't keep up with it and had to call several people back to let them know that we were too full to book them.

I'm back to a regular schedule for the rest of July, AFAIK. No problem. Happy to do it. It’s a good thing you returned Tuesday though. I relapsed in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. It started with aching joints and shaking as if I had chills and then it got ...worse. Much worse. I was down and out of it “enjoying” a Zero bread and water diet the whole day.

Scattered elements of my family were going to meet for a vacation week, which would have required all of them to drive or fly somewhere near an island off the coast of some New England state. This would have entailed my 71 year-old parents driving through several states. Since May I had been telling them that it wasn't going to be a good idea to go through with it, given the risk of driving through all those states, people coming from different states, and especially since the organizer of the gathering (plus their entourage) would be coming out of the middle of NYC (which should have been all that needed saying). Luckily, reason finally won out and it was cancelled (though I am attributing it to my parents seeing for themselves how risky it would be after they saw for themselves how people were neglecting to follow good pandemic procedures when they went for a drive one day... seeing is believing).

I don’t believe I have. I have considered doing so. I think the closest I came was trying to paint a saber tooth cat like a creature from a video game. (AoW: Shadow Magic; one of the level two creatures from the cat people faction.)

I can’t think of any. Apart from having the April 15th dreadLine moved out. 5

It's funny, my trip to LV this past Jan, seems like it was taken in a different era right now.

I love using natural color schemes!! I use them for most of my work, even if the subject of the photo doesn't match what I'm painting. :) Random example - my pirate Maricela/Maeryn is loosely based off of blueberries. 19 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: July 8: Have there been any events cancelled due to COVID that have filled you with a sense of relief for not having to participate/endure it? A teeny, teeny, teeny, tiny piece of me is relieved about ReaperCon. I've been mentally struggling about all sorts of stuff, including not having "enough" progress in my sculpting. This year has been wild but I could have put in more time if I tried harder. I don't want to let my friends down. But I miss talking to everyone more than any guilt about progress. No hang outs or discords either. Only whatsapp for my family /friends and work.
