Friday, July 10: What's your style; that is, how do you typically dress?

Sat-Sun, July 11-12: Any fun plans this weekend (share pics if appropriate)?

Normal for me is jeans, t shirt and cowboy boots.

We've had a lot of rain lately so my "fun" plans are to work my butt off fixing fence and repairing equipment if it doesn't rain. Forecast is for more showers this afternoon and then no rain for awhile.

If at work, nice pants and shirt, off work, jeans comfortable shirt and boots.

We have a garage sale going, so surviving that is the plan...

Always, always, always a t-shirt. Particularly button-up polos. I feel like my arms are being strangled in a long-sleeve shirt.

Probably no particular plans. I think I'll give a shot at painting the miniatures from Scythe... Love that game.

2-piece suit, no tie. Shoe game on point. I'm sad that style is becoming a thing of the past.

I know this one. The answer lies in “mapping” in 3D the path that water took to tumble out of the faucet. Every segment of piping is potentially a different temperature, therefore the water inside is a different temperature.

Your house differs from all others.

In mine the first few seconds of water is from pipes that are in the walls in the air conditioned space, then the water warms a bit, because it is from the supply line to the house which is shallowly buried, under a hot lawn. The further the water has to travel in pipes that are exposed to AC air the longer the chilled water lasts.

Your plumbing could have pipes inside the slab, pipes on vertical runs inside walls, a supply line under the yard...the water will be different temps in each of those zones. Then when you open a tap, it all starts moving, you feel temperature fluctuations.

@Morihalda:  Good answer by TGP; I was going to say; "It's summer and you live in the God-forsaken heat wastes of TX."  But his answer is probably more helpful.

(edits: unless you have some kinda water chiller then: I have no clue. When I was a kid I used to love cold water from the tap, it was so-o-o cold at that house, either there was deep pipes under that house or the water just seemed colder to my little kid sized head.

The part of your post where you said something about unpack a “Vive” and get back to boxing. Gonna need more. You just moved: wouldn’t you be unboxing?)

That's cool! I'm used to the temperature fluctuations, but this stays consistently and grossly lukewarm. I thought it might be because it's consistently over 95F now, but if I fiddle with the handles, I can get very cold water. Each sink is different. The second bathroom has amazingly cold water - but only if you turn the cold handle about 45 degrees first, and then the hot handle about 45 degrees second.

 I love when I see you standing next to your art! Partly for your awesome work in the gallery, and partly for your awesome clothes!

How I typically dress? Black golf shirt, black pants, and black nylon belt.  Oh yeah, black socks too, but no black footwear as most steel toes are brown.  Why? Because that's work uniform..   The golf shirts are embroidered...

Oh, how do I dress when I actually choose?  Usually some sort of shorts if it's warm (pants otherwise, used to be Tripp NYC or Ghast, but will be UFO pants soon enough), and a t-shirt.  I never wear long sleeves if I can help it, I hate any kind of clothing that restricts movement, so yup, I hate my work pants... Oh, and t-shirts are typically Fox branded, because I like their stuff, and since I don't go out all that often (a product of working on killing off debts, so transitioning to pandemic stuff was a lot easier... Ish...) I don't really need to have all that many.  I did recently pick up a stretchy orange tshirt, that really threw off the staff at my local post office because I've always shown up wearing either a work shirt or a Fox shirt.

Oh yeah, and on cooler days I'm wearing either a spring/fall hoodie or a bulkier hoodie for winter (unless I'm at work, then, you guessed it, work jacket).

As for the under layer, I'll just say 2UNDR makes incredibly comfortable boxer briefs, and Mark's Matrix Dri-Wear socks are practical, and last a decent amount of time in steel toe boots.

But yeah, I used to be some sort of mix of cyber-goth, dark raver, and a few other things for how I looked. Some of that has been toned down, other aspects come out when I go out :P

No real fun plans per se, other than the occasional walk, but that's more to burn off energy and sate my competitive desires than anything else.  Might spin some poi, if I'm able to get past my bias against sock poi (I much prefer a solid, static rope tether) and/or double loop handles (my first set, which tangle something fierce due to the use of ball chain.. And they're too short) .  I'll fix that poi problem soon enough.

Cleaning and assembling minis is on the list though, even if my Operation:Kaldstrom box didn't come in. Maybe some painting too.... If I can pull myself away from games long enough! ^_^

At the moment? Vest and shorts.

When it starts getting cooler I'll switch back to T-shirts and sweatpants.

I'm not.  But that's a bias born from interactions I've had in the past with people that were really into being "stylish."  It was usually either an obnoxious status thing, or a competition stemming from a resentment about being unremarkable/unattractive without it.  <_<

Well...

This is where we need Peter Vinckmann saying, “Good guess, but wrong.”

My style is "practical".  Sturdy, comfortable black shoes that go everywhere, jeans for home, garden, or shopping, comfortable shirt appropriate for the weather, layers if needed, etc.  Nothing too trendy that it can't be worn year after year.  Nothing fussy or delicate.

I think we're gaming on Roll20 tomorrow. One of my group flew to LA over the holiday weekend and I'm making him quarantine for 14 days.

Sunday DH & I have a meeting with a designer to get the 2nd half of our basement remodel figured out.

This is weird. But channeling every TV episode of Ask This Old House I have ever watched I decided to look up some things.

I think that whoever installed your faucets didna quite know what they were doing AND you have one of the two newer types that now exist. One involves Ceramic Disk Valves the other involves Cartridge Valves.

Jeans and t-shirts, shorts when it gets too hot (athletic/sporting shorts are best). And a hooded sweatshirt when it gets cool enough. But life is best when you don't have to wear pants.

Maybe working on one of the many hobby projects I have started, but have yet to finish. I have some figures for my brother to paint, but really there isn't a rush to finish them due to COVID. Or I may just forget that entirely and binge-watch something. I still have a lot of old Jean-Claude Van Damme movies on Amazon Prime to watch...

Too hot and too humid to do any outside work, desperately in need of rain here.

I work until Sunday,  but during my weekend, it'll look much the same as my other days off for the last while. Amusing myself at home, with my guy, my garden,  my minis and my cats. We are on a quest to find a hiking trail that isn't stupid crowded - a unicorn hunt in Colorado.  If we go when it's 100 degrees on a non shaded trail at high noon, we might have a shot:)
