FPilot
The Fluff: Napier-Chilton started as a frontier (home planet: Rubiconis) subsidiary of SyRam, often building SyRam designs or fabricating subassemblies for SyRam's own factories. Recently they began to create their own designs, due to (as said in company press) customer needs specific to the colonial militaries. So far, N-C hasn't sold any of their in-house design equipment to the main UFF, but main business has come from units of the Colonial UFF and planetary militias. N-C often builds its CAVs without armaments, so the customer units can fit their own weaponry and support hardware as needed. In what the company itself calls "a disturbing trend", N-C CAVs and vehicles have been commonly seen in the employ of anti-UFF Terran insurgent forces, such as the Interlopers, the Regulators, the Metal Victory Army and so on. Security at N-C plants is always tight and detectives for N-C have been known to assist governments in search of the terror armies, but tracing the leaks to the source continues to be a problem. CAVs: The MAR 18-Z2 This is the standard Main Battle CAV in Napier-Chilton's current product line. It is presented here without weapons or add-on equipment. 4 DAMAGE TRACKS MM: 18. POWER: 4. It comes in two main variants: the Dash 5 shown below and the Dash 6, which upgrades the Breeder from the SyRam Sun Corona T-55 to the T-60 of the same manufacturer. (This adds 12 more Cost Points.) Often this is required because of a need to provide more power for energy weaponry. The FAM is a speedster, better used as a scoot-and-snipe machine rather than a close-and-hose superiority type. 3 DAMAGE TRACKS MM: 32. POWER: 4. COST: 55 ACA: +3. COST: 1 DCA: +7. COST: 4 ARM: +2. FPilot
Aircraft: The A2R-S3 "DAUNTLESS" The Dauntless is Napier-Chilton's most famous aerospace product--originally designed as a Gunship crew trainer, it was upgraded for actual combat on an ad hoc basis by armies for years before N-C finally arrived at the following combat-ready version. (This is basically a WW2-era prop-driven fighter, although a standard helicopter gunship [Tigre, Apache, Hokum, Cobra] can also stand in for this machine.) It lacks the more modern electronics and higher raw firepower of the main rivals its size (Kikyu and Dragonfly), but the Dauntless offers more speed, more crew protection and a balanced weapons suite. Some squadrons replace the Hellfire rockets with more napalm bombs; other units take the opposite view. The MAG 28 machine gun, derived from infantry weapons, is a good fit on the main weapon mount. 1 DAMAGE TRACK MM: 42. POWER: 4. COST: 36 ACA: +0. COST: 1 DCA: +2. COST: 1 ARM: +2. COST: 6 PW: 12. FPilot
Aircraft (Continued): The LFC-1L "STORK" The Stork, at first glance, looks like a civil aircraft. In fact, Storks have been in service so long that first-generation machines are commonly found on the military surplus market and many (weaponless "demobilized") ones belong to private owners and local police services. However, these machines are still very useful and often are assigned to combat air units alongside gunships and AT flyers. The Stork's main mission is battlefield air control and indirect-fire spotting. Built around Mitso-Ta designed Breeder, Targeter and ECM suites (all derived from the Kikyu's) but with a completely different airframe, the Stork carries Chain Lock and ECCM pods under its wings. Storks rove above the terrain, searching out targets for CAVs, other aircraft or missile launchers. With their ample speed (enough to outrun most opposing gunships) they can bait enemies into ambushes and penetrate wide swaths of enemy airspace. For self-defense, the WSO has an AirLAW rocket launcher--mostly a modified Infantry bazooka. While it won't do much against a Tank or CAV, it can still give an opposing gunship something to think about. A common variant is the Casevac model: with the weaponry, ECCM and Chain Lock removed and the TL system replaced with a more rudimentary one (+1; 3 Cost Points) Napier-Chilton has made space available for a Small Transport Bay for stretchers and a medic. This version is also often seen in use by civilian agencies. (62 total Cost Points.) (NOTE: This is your basic small plane or light helicopter. Think the Cessna Skymaster from BAT 21 or T.C.'s Hughes 500 from the Magnum PI TV series. CAV-scale toys are easily found of these.) 1 DAMAGE TRACK MM: 36. POWER: 4. COST: 32 ACA: +0. FPilot
I noticed in a bizarre coincidence that my MAR 18-Z2 is statistically identical to the Clans' ShadowHawk IIC from Classic Battletech. I did not intend this.
FPilot
I'm bumping this up in the hopes that I can add new vehicles to it in the very near future. Is there any interest in fluff for the "insurgent groups"?

FPilot
Two More CAVS The H.A.R. 14D "RYUSEI" and the A.S.R. 16E The Ryusei looks like a Mitso-Ta design, and its nickname could also confuse longtime Misto-Ta watchers, but Napier-Chilton is the sole manufacturer of this Heavy CAV design. This machine is the first project of the Nitano Studio, a group of former Mitso-Ta engineers and architects who came to N-C after a corporate shakeup about which little is known. It is known that the Nitano staff had clauses in their contracts that forbid them from seeking work with SyRam or non-Terran UCORs, but N-C offered them a loophole of sorts. Any ruffled feathers at M-T were smoothed when N-C announced that they would license-build Ronin assault CAVs rather than green-light their own A.S.R. 16E. However, the A.S.R. program is being kept alive (if on the back-burner) as it looks to be a worthwhile platform for an anti-aircraft CAV or for other specialized roles. Meanwhile, the Ryusei has won a large order from the Concord Colonial UFF Legion. Orders from other Colonial UFF armies may be in the offing as well. H.A.R. 14D 5 DAMAGE TRACKS MM: 18. POWER: 6. FPilot
The S.H. 26X "HADES" Napier-Chilton's first foray into the Super CAV class, the Hades is still in the prototype stage and hasn't been officially "finalized". The designers kept the speed low so that even after extreme damage, the CAV can still move--and still fight and kill. A maximum powerplant helps this CAV keep on its feet. The CAV is designed with a much larger than usual crew compartment--easily big enough for a three-man crew as standard and for up to two more crew in a modified configuration. As to the nickname, a former Colonial UFF officer observing the CAV's development quipped, "It's slow as damnation--but there's no end to the tribulation this monster will cause an enemy!" 8 DAMAGE TRACKS MM: 10. I'm correcting the stats above but the upshot of it is that the Pitchfork and Hot Hail packs are not only available to Super CAVs, they can go on Large CAVs with 6 DTs!) FPilot
Bumping this up because of the update to the HADES. I may add a few more vehicles and a set of weapons too. Watch this space.
