Sculpting a Medusaceratops

Recommended Posts

Ordered a 3D print of a Medusaceratops skull. I plan to use it as a sculpting base and add the flesh, skin and details to make it a bust. I've already attached the lower jaw

Continuing to add flesh over the lower jaw to make sure it is securely connected. I don't want it to suddenly pop off

I got too close to the downward protrusions is the upper skull that are not supposed to be buried in the musculature, but I will just fix that with a bit if sculpting

Bit more work. Hopefully will be able to get the other side symmetrical

The eye is not done, I haven't done eyelids so it will look funky

Are you going to insert BBs or round beads or anything as eyeballs?

Don't have any, so will just sculpt them myself. I also plan to add larger scales in areas, I feel like they are a bit small and too consistent

I really like the scales so far. @malefactus takes advantage of the hole in the beads. It serves to become the pupil. But that might not work here ..?.. but it would depend on what sort of pupils you want for this Dino: reptilian vertical slit shape or round like avians. Which do you believe dinosaurs had?

Looking forward to seeing the zones where the bigger scales go in.

No idea, possibly round. Slit pupils seem fairly rare. But I was actually thinking rectangular goat pupils could look fun

Your scale work and putty control are improving!  This is looking really good.

Thanks! Means a lot to hear that from you!

He is hanging out upside down while his neck base cures

I will sculpt him with a slight head turn to make it more interesting than my sculpted dragon bust was
