I have the first week in August off, but with little vacationing going on in the world I'll be staying home and trying out this all-day painting stuff I hear people talking about.

  • I have a mini for the exchange about halfway done.  I'll try and finish it up.
  • I have another mini for the exchange primed.  We'll see if I'm motivated to give my partner two minis.
  • I have a kit that is partially cleaned.  I should finish removing the mold lines and such so I can prime it and find all the mold lines I missed.

Finish Dark Angel Chaplain.

Finishing my Necron Royal Warden.

Painting five Space Wolves Assault Intercessors.

Assembling the rest of Indomitus.

Finishing and basing at least 10 Perry War of the Roses miniatures.

Going to be a hectic month outside of the hobby, but these goals I hope shouldn't be too difficult.

Title ideas....

August: Paint Like A Roman !

August: Just Four? Weeks To Reapercon

Goal:

Augustus was a Caesar: so paint something Roman, or paint like a Roman... ...maybe just give something a red cloak.

Let's say 4 minis finished as the August goal.   Hubby and I started playing Dungeon and Dragons Online last month, and it cut into my painting time.   I am also going thru containers of old loose minis from 30 years ago trying to identify and catalog them all, which is also cutting into that painting time.

For August it pretty much boils down to...

- do some sort of hobbying every day,

- work on Operation:Kaldstrom (I'd like colours blocked in on the initial ten minis on each side if possible), and

- Assemble the support boxes for each Code One faction I have (eight minis total).

- Bonus: assemble my Yu Jing Invincible Army starter set

- Bonus: paint at least one MDF building to completion

Edit: I also really need to tidy up my desks again, I've let them have way too many projects on there, and it's causing problems once again.  Obviously my main desk is going to become Infinity heavy (due to Code One and N3 armies), but I think I'm going to look into having 1-2 minis of each faction on there plus a couple minis for one of my other projects.  I don't want to shelve some of them, but clearly some of my projects aren't seeing progress due to being significantly lower priority than others, so I want to have a tidier desk, but still have other minis somewhat close (aka in a nearby bookshelf)

I like to finish:

  • Artisan Guild - Female Orc Fighter
  • Artisan Guild - Fishmen Priest
  • Artisan Guild - Telaxia Tidal Beauty
  • Artisan Guild - Female Oni Ogre Grunt
  • Artisan Guild - Clawed Demon.
  • Work on my Temple of Apophis.

I also really like to start on either the huge Earth Tremor or the Celestial Sphinx I have printed or the Necromera.

I had hoped to be running multiple games of Rangers of Shadow Deep at conventions this summer. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic they were all cancelled or switched to online. So keeping in mind what I had wanted to do in August I will:

  • Paint another monster for Rangers of Shadow Deep
  • Paint six gnoll tents for the Ghost Stone campaign
  • Paint the last Polish hero for Anno Domini 1666
  • Paint Ming the Merciless for Slipstream
  • Paint this month's Mithril miniature.

I also have to finish my exchange miniature for the summer exchange.

And I have as a personal gaming goal, to run Rangers of Shadow Deep on Reapercon Online.

So far so good. I am supposed to be listed on Warhorn

My hobby goals for 2020 include:

  • Painting more miniatures for Rangers of Shadow Deep and Frostgrave games (22 so far)
  • Entering at least two miniature painting contests (and the monthly Frostgrave contest)
  • Painting some sci-fi minis for the game Slipstream (18 so far)
  • Painting all the figures in my annual box (6 remain)
  • Painting a Mithril miniature each month [On track with 8]

A pleasure to keep in contact with this August Assembly.

A very nice Big Thing is happening to us in a weeks time and I expect it will impact on hobbying. I'd been getting through/finishing off over 50 minis a month (lots of units and batch painting) and that is unlikely to be the case for a little while in future.

Goals are to finish the last additions to the paint queue. So aim for about 15 minis, whatever is hanging around primed and on a base.

These are likely to be the Chronoscope classic scifi minis I brought, to prepare for Frostgrave Stargrave,  some fantasy, and some pirates.
