haldir
Pretty much what everyone has said above. The late night get togethers, the games (for the longest time RCon was my only source for sit down table top rpging), seeing the hobby in person. Most of my miniature purchases are online, so I only see them when I open the box. Always nice to browse the shelves first before purchasing. Everything else that RCon has come to stand for. Everyone that I only get to see once a year. The last couple years I've made a trip to Las Vegas for the Open & while it's a Warhammer-wargaming con, I'm able to see at least a couple of RCon goers there (Lyn Stahl & Aaron Lovejoy). If I had to pick one person out I think it'd be Rastl. She has become a good friend & the last 5 years or so has been my roomie at the Con. It's funny, when I first started going to RCon back in '05 I wanted a room just by myself as I wanted to use the weekend to get away from family, friends during the Con, etc. Now I'd rather have a roomie & have someone share the cost of the room, which has significantly gone up in price but of course has gone up in quality. It's just nice to have a constant connection to the Con. 12

Sorry, was distracted by cookies and snacks, plus a nice large stroopwaffle on top of my coffee AND my tea. Glitter, what glitter? So long as it doesn't get in my fur, I am not going to complain! 5

Choosing our favourite forumite is like asking us to choose our favourite stroopwafels.

Unlimited BACON at the hotel breakfast. For the rest, it's nearly everything: classes; gaming; hobby hijinks; geek shopping; melt table; seeing the competition entries. But I guess socializing with my Reaperite peers in person it what I value the most. I've been to other fan conventions, but ReaperCon is the one where I know the most people. Be it you guys from the board, or the actual people of Reaper and the artists. 2. I've met quite a few of you guys and hope to do it again. But overall I don't know if I want to meet anyone specific. Though I would like to congratulate our resident xenomorph and goblin in person. Edited August 1, 2020 by Cranky Dog

Disciple of Sakura
Never been, probably never will be able to go, so not really that broken up about it. I'm disappointed about missing Origins this year, though.

Talking to people. 2. Not an answer to the question as intended but... I'd like to ask the high-level painters (@Wren, @Corporea, @Kuro Cleanbrush, and more!) about what they consider their painting style to be - and what they consider other painters' styles to be. (This could also be a fascinating panel discussion.) Or, if you want a more straight answer to the question: Everyone, really. I'd like to be more extroverted next time but... that's going to be hard. Interacting with people can be tiring and I'm still low on spoons.

The virtual thing is the closest I’ll have been to it. While the classes and such would be amazing, the thing I look forward to most is being able to meet some of you lovely folks, even though I’m hella shy and awkward. 2) I’m gonna pick @TaleSpinner, because he’s cool, got loads of knowledge about sculpting, and he made my cute teddy bear mini But I’d love to meet all of you and spend more time in person.

Strangely enough, We were looking forward to staying in a hotel where a con is taking place. My wife and I go to a couple of conventions locally every year. But since we only live about a mile and a half from the convention center we just stay at home. As convenient as that is, it means when we go home the con is done for the day. No running down to the bar to hang with friends, no late night games with new friends, no naps in the middle of the day. You get the idea. We've talked for years about going to an out of town convention just to get that experience. So when I mentioned wanting to go to Reapercon my wife was down with it even though minis aren't necessarily her thing. That's okay though. I can be patient and stay healthy and give it a shot in the future. Couldn't say. I'm willing to sit down over a beer or cup of coffee (or over a cup of rinse water as the case may be) with just about anyone.
