We opened the library to browsing appointments (45 minutes in the stacks, limited numbers, distanced etc) and didn't have any antimasker meltdowns. Cannot overstate how big of a step that was, I live in a very, very dumb part of NY (that is only doing well because it's surrounded by the smarter parts). We've had a couple problems but have thus far been able to limit them to the phone or parking lot. I had a job interview for the first time in a really long time. I felt like I did really well, I stated my needs, explained how I would be an asset to their company, and was positive and professional. Really hoping to hear back from them today. Got a ton of work completed last week and got a grant that I've been working under since 2017 extended another year. It's a grant for field work and pays for my time, gear and interns. Without a field season or interns this year I was looking at having to return the unspent portion of the grant at the end of next year. And that would have put a strain on our ability to get stuff done within budget for a good long time. My lemondrop peppers finally ripened. And we made some soup with them. They're pretty spicy, but full of good lemon pepper flavor. Finally started on a project to get our laundry room painted. It's been on the to do list for a while but I've been dragging my heels getting it started. We're going with "Calypso" from Sherwin Williams as the color because Reaper doesn't sell Tropical Blue by the gallon. My swag boxes for Reapercon arrived as did a bunch of stuff I ordered for classes. Of course I had to tear everything out of my hobby area and reorganize it because I didn't have space for all the extra paint. But now that's done it's much more relaxing in there.
