The Beast

Thanks!  Yeah I got him from the kickstarter.  Unfortunately when they shipped my stuff they sent me two of the same board game boxes so I am missing some minis.

I thought about doing him a different color but just wanted to keep it simple while I get back into painting.

Welcome back, Necromancer!  I'd been wondering where you'd gotten to.

Great stuff!

Oooooh, very nice. Did you pick that guy up from the Limbo kickstarter? I painted mine a weird, neon green, but that red is gorgeous.

I wanna see it!

OK so it took me some time to finish this guy up but I finally got him done... I think.  I am also going to make him part of a larger dio which I will post pics of here.

C&C welcomed and appreciated!

I also got a new light box so I used these to practice with it a little bit.

So now to the next figure of the dio...

Really great work on that beast! He looks very sinister, indeed. The skin looks great, and I especially like how the back turned out! And your shadows are rather nice, too. I look forward to seeing the diorama!

Just a quick base coat for The Nun.  I don't usually paint this way but thought I would try it out.  She looks a little McDonaldsy right now but hopefully that will change.

Next I'll  be working on my nemesis... her eyes!  I ALWAYS struggle with eyes and her are small!

C&C always welcomed and appreciated

I hope to take a skin painting class this weekend to help me out with this one because I have never painted a female skin like this.

I also would like to paint some sheer stallings on her but I have never done that either.  Since they messed up my KS order I have two of her so it will give me a model to practice her skin and stalkings.

Well that's  about as good as I can do for eyes. But I am pretty happy with them.

I need to smooth out the skin but just to the naked eye her skin appears much smoother than the in picture.

C&C welcome and appreciated!  The more critical the better!

Changed her up a little and worked on adding shadows to her face and legs.  I want to add roundness to her legs but I'm afraid the purple is a little strong.

What do you all think?

In the second picture I glazed a little Reikland Fleshshade to help tone it down and smooth it out a little. And I took the picture not so close (viewing distance) and it looks a little better.

Please provide and tips or thoughts about her skin.

A bit late to the party, but I really like the demon. Great contrast and nice NMM on the morning stars. The horns are especially well done.

There is one thing I would do: Take a nice bright red and glaze it all over the highlights. I think the red is going too far into flesh tones (if that is what you wanted fair go obviously). If you wanted a nice rich red, the glaze will correct this and keep the contrast and highlights.

I like how you subtly highlighted her legs and gave it the impression of nylons.

The skin looks good from afar. Close up it seems the paint is a bit chunky. Maybe thin them a tad more and glaze over it with your mid tone to get a smoother finish.

really like the green eyes, but I would make them a tad larger (the pupil and iris).

Yeah I've been fighting the chunck/chalking with her skin.  I have been trying to think as I usually do but I don't painting with the lighter skin tones very often. I even used glaze medium and it was still giving me problems. Just something I will have to practice with.

Thanks you much for the C&C!
