Erion
When were the first Warlord models released to the public. My Brain is Telling me late 2002 or early 2003, but I want to make sure before I give out some bad information?

Moderator Froggy the Great Posted August 5, 2004 Moderator Share Posted August 5, 2004 I want to say late 2002. Whoever won the big bundle o' casket works in the Reaper Garage Sale would be the beswt one to be able to tell. I vaguely remember the first announcement in the CW at or just before Origins 2002. Dancin'Debby
I want to say late 2002. Whoever won the big bundle o' casket works in the Reaper Garage Sale would be the beswt one to be able to tell. that would be Gus Landt (anybody seen him post recently?)who won the CW's. And just because it was announced in a CW doesn't mean the figs were out on time. After all the Warlord rulebook was out in beta version at Origins 2003 and publicized in CW 12 with Razig's army. I'm thinking summer 2002 for the figs also. ReaperRon would be the best one to answer this question I think. debby
pae
Casketworks #9 (the PDF version) shows the Beastmen (and others) as future releases, so a dozen or so were out by then. That issue was sometime in 2002.
Steven Page
It was about this time 2002 that I bought my first four Warlord figures. They were 14001, Ellendaria;14005,Lord Ironraven;14006,Syphrillia; and 14012 Gauntfield. MY CW#9 is marked that I owned those four. I now have all of them, pending new releases. FreeFall
I bought Lord Ironraven at Gen Con 2002. That was the first time I saw them and heard about the game. I'm not sure if that was when they were first released, but I can confirm their existence at that time.
haldir
you know technically the 1st Warlord wasn't even a Warlord to begain with. As a special treat for the minipainter Vision in Color Yahoo "contest" Sandra & Reaper did a alternate & better version of Ellendaria, she is effectionally named Vickie among members of minipainter. She had no goofy helmet or giant sword. She also was dressed in a long trenchcoat with her gesturing a spell on one hand & a dragon headed wooden staff in the other. Great mini, one reason why I never bought Elendaria as a Warlord. Also she a Very limited mini, as she was made for the mini painter VIC showing. She wasn't on a Warlord slot base thou Randy M
Kelcore
Yeah, I've been kicking myself ever since for not getting involved with the VIC thang. It's such a cool mini. I hated the resculpt. IIRC, my FLGS picked up a few Warlords @ Origins 2002, I picked them up (almost cleaned em out, actually) the 1st business day after Origins. He kind of let the Miniature Painting.net site sit for a while. Has anyone heard if there is another VIC in the offing?
