RCon series…

Query for Sept. 4th:

Zoom, Skype, Discord Chat, Twitch, Google Hangouts (or another) which distant connect service do you like best/hate least?  (Which of those do you have xp with?)

I'm most familiar with Twitch, I really enjoy watching mini artists working on their craft and it's great to be able to ask them questions about how they get certain effects. Anne Foerster is a particularly awesome teacher and I've really learned a lot from her.

Query for Sept. 5th:

Have you managed to overload yourself with ReaperCon virtual classes so far?  For those not not doing distance learning for fun, are you having to help or supervise kidlets as they do distance learning for school?

Unfortunately, I've been working all weekend ::(: I really wanted to catch @TaleSpinners and Ian Markons classes, but it was sadly not to be.

Query for Sept. 6th:

Have you tried playing any internet RPG games this weekend? (There have been many at ReaperCon this weekend, but other games over the nets count as well, even war-games.)

The closest I got to RPGing was chasing down these things in Monster Hunter World online. Really wish I could get decent minis of most of the critters in that game

There may be a little good news.  I know at least one of Ian Markon's classes was recorded.  I should take better notes.  The record light was on during the stream.  Last I heard, they would put them up somewhere, but I haven't heard the scoop on where yet.  I think it was @Reaper_Jon who turned on recording when Ian said he was okay with it.  With most of the classes I saw, the Reaper host did not inquire, or did not know it was a possibility to record.

Wow thank you, that's awesome news! I totally respect a tutors decision to not consent to recording their class though, both for privacy and financial reasons. I'm going to have to check out David Diamondstones osl class on Twitch, I managed to catch the end of it and the results were amazing ::o: I seriously need to level up on that technique before attempting this bad boy that's sitting in my box of shame right now.

:ik_oops: Haz a sad….

I got to sit in on both of Talespinner's classes. They were quite good. Kinda missed Ian's, intended to catch it, but minor fail.

There are at least two Zoom format classes left for today, hosted by Mocha and Oneboot. As noted in Question 7, it is not quite over.

Query for Sept. 7th:

ReaperCon Online is one day longer (Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon) than the live event, what do you think of the longer format?

While events end on Sunday at the live con, I think a fair number of people are still around on Monday since it is a holiday.  Makes no difference to me, I have to drive home Sunday from the live con and this year I had my own fail on Sunday, so it was the same 3 day event for me. Con is over, I have laundry and grocery shopping to do.

I'm relieved that I can see some of it and looking forward to checking out the classes ^_^

Ended on Sunday for me. No need to change format due to it being online.

It sure beats having to travel for a whole day. Particularly when you have early flights that ruin your night's sleep, or last minute cancellations.

This year may not have tons of classes. But it's new start. And the price point was a major perk.
