I've never tried any, as far as I'm aware it's to put on meat? To make it taste better or something? ::P:

Specifically, it is a sweet and tangy, sometimes spicy sauce used to glaze slow-smoked meats (BBQ) just before serving.  This method of meat preparation started in the americas, so you may not have encountered the culture.  Today the sauce is often used to season anything from chicken nuggets to french fries, because the sweet flavor and spices will cover up the original flavor if used heavily enough.  It's one way to get kids to eat their food, or cover an over cooked chicken breast or low-quality  beef patty.  Some people like it so much they put it on anything.  Most cultures have an equivalent over-used condiment.

Inquiry, the 19th O’ September:

What do that flag, BBQ sauce, and Hispaniola have to do one with another? Aaaaarrh! PIRATES is what.

This Court of Inquiry (Which shall carry on through the twentieth...) is convened to discover: How many buccaneer figures have ye? Have ye managed slather  paint on any of ‘em? Do they have any hulls to command? Or do you at least have a ship on order? Do ye own a proper pirate outfit?  And above all! By Neptune’s Slimy Beard, can ye at least Talk Like a Pirate??

Not sure, a small handful from Bones. Only one painted, the guy with a sword carrying a small chest. They can use my Bones rowboat. There's not enough to handle a proper ship. So they'd make a pretty poor crew more suitable for mugging people outside the tavern rather than high seas adventures. Not so good at talking like a pirate. Can't keep the jargon going for long. Prates just aren't my thing which is good because I already have too many things and not enough cash to keep buying all the others things I want.

Arrh, I has 16 minis (for 16 is like a goblin 20.  16 men on a dead man's chest yo ho ho and a bottle of rum) .

I has a few hulls and one setting sail after Dec 1st.  I have started to stock extra cannon and a few catapults for fantasy campaigns.

I own a solid handful of pirate minis.

At least one painted. I entered him in the competition at my first ReaperCon.

I have the bones ghost ship, and a couple of dinghys. Want the bones 5 ship but not sure it will happen.

I have a couple of pirate outfits. A Captain Marvelous non-morphed outfit from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, and enough pieces to out together a couple of european pirate and steampunk pirate costumes.

Nope, pirate is not one I can do. I managed a very bad russian accent for a 7th sea game, but other than that, I just cannot pull off accents. Not on purpose, anyway.

Burgers: Pretty much slap a burger in front of me & I'll eat it. Thou, some of these odd creations I'll pass on. Out of the fast food places, I tend to favor Wendy's burgers, thou they've changed allot over the years. I guess you could say when they didn't have the sea salt fries in their lineup is when I really liked their burgers. Helps that we had a local franchise before it burnt down & the owner didn't want to re-build it.

BBQ Sauce(s): I tend to not use them as I like the flavor of the meat itself. While I do like a little bit of A1 regular sauce on my dead cow, but not enough to drown the piece I'm eating. I'm not one for ketchup when it comes to fries. I tend to use ranch for those. Local eatery has a special sauce that I really like as well. It's like special sauce (ketchup/mayo mix) but it has a kick & has chunky bits to give a bit of texture. It's good stuff!!

Gentlemen o' fortune: I 'ave plenty o' gentleman o' fortune minis. 'eck I know 'ave some to make a small (true-size) mouselin' gentleman o' fortune gang as well. I 'ad plenty even before this here year's rcon theme. I've ran a gentleman o' fortune themed pathfinder adventure at rcon a few times as well. In one o' them games, it wasn't an actual gentleman o' fortune themed game, so I add elements to it. At the start I asked everyone their factions & the first faction member that there pointed out the element got bonus points fer their faction that there yearrr. It been a real fun game, especially since the end boss been a young black dragon (& no 'e did nay 'ave a skull & crossbones painted on 'im, thou now that there I mention it, I should 'ave added it!! )

The last yearrr I went to rcon, I 'ad a nautical adventure planned that there 'ad a bit o' gentlemen o' fortune in it, so I painted to the sky a few reaper scalawags fer it. They turned out pretty nice.

Fer this here year's online rcon game I been goin' to run a nautical/island adventure that there involved a sea encounter with goblin gentlemen o' fortune!!

Aye, this be a might fine question for one with a bounty like meself.  Me haul o piratical figures is steadily growing as they prepare to hoist the anchor and set sail on their maiden voyage of a nautical 5e campaign.  Me treasure o' choice be plastics and thus me haul be comprised of several boxes worth of Rum & Bones boardgames and character packs.  If you'd ask me to take a guess as to the quantity of this particular haul, I'd wager it be nearing 300 if not greater.  As an added bonus, I've also stolen about a dozen or so Reaper bones figures of the nautical variety, and am eagerly awaiting the prize that is Bones 5.  Unfortunat'ly, I be only having one buccaneer with a proper paint job.  But I be setting a course to correct that.  Five ghostly apparitions and a bold cap'n are awaiting a base and some primer and should soon be joining the ranks of the painted beauties.

As far as vessels?  I be the capn' of two un-seaworthy hunks of foam.  One destined to be scraped at the bottom of the great blue bin, and another that is still being lumbered in the shipyard.  If'n ye be so curious as to see the progress of this fine beauty, you can catch a glimpse o the builders hard at work over at this here thread.

An outfit you say?  Aye, I've had my fair share, especially as a wee lad.  Though my most recent attire was less than suitable and is in need of a good tailor.

And now that i've properly boasted about me own bounty, it's high time I be eyeing up your own scores with a greedy glint in me eye.  Consider yerselves warned.  And as always, beware the black flags.

Not very many, I'm not a huge fan of the gunpowder and beyond age (I like swords, axes and armor better). I think the ones I have are from the first Bones KS:

I haven't painted them yet. I have one or two other minis that are swashbuckler types, but they don't have pistols on them, so I can use them in a fantasy RPG.

Sadly, of all the cultural exports from America, this should have been included. Instead we gave the world the Kardashians... which is essentially the cultural equivalent of giving the world herpes.

Query for Sept. 17th:
Tomorrow (the 18th)  is national (**US?) cheeseburger day, how do you like yours?

Seasoned meat, cooked on a charcoal grill, pretzel bun (lightly toasted), sharp cheddar, sautéed mushrooms, and just a touch of bbq sauce.

Query for Sept. 18:

What barbecue sauce is your preferred brand? (and please tell why...) If you can’t stand barbecue sauce, what was it that caused you to dislike it?

Sweet baby ray’s, specifically their chipotle flavor. I like the sweet and spicy, and SBR’s has a nice smooth, mellow flavor that doesn’t overwhelm stuff (assuming you don’t bathe the food in it).

How many pirates were included in the core sets of Bones 1-4?  That's how many pirate figures I have, plus I've probably picked a few more up over the years.  I've painted a few, but it is a genre I've rarely gamed in and they are usually not my first choice for a mini to paint for painting's sake.  I'm pretty sure I had a LEGO pirate ship at one time.  I may have one on order.  Modern pirates are frequently seen in t-shirts and jeans, so I can manage that.  I don't really do Robert Newton, but I could manage a pre-1950s movie pirate.

1: I be holdin' one pirate lass, and in my chests there rest many pirate mechs, including 2 Buccaneers, 1 Brigand, and many, MANY Marauders.

2: Several, mostly Marauders.

3:OH HULL YEAH.

As examples, here be a pair of fine ships that sailed under the flag of the Republic of Texas. After winning a great battle against the Mexican Navy (the ONLY time in history sails beat steam), President Houston denounced them, declaring them pirates. As befits both pirates and revolutionaries, this official announcement was largely ignored.

4: Well, I'm currently finishing up a handful of Roman warships patterned on pirate vessels of the day, and I do own a bedsheet, so...yes!

5: Caesar interficiam. Da mihi pecuniam!

Arrgh.. too many to count. There be lads and lasses, skellies, a kobold and his doxy, mouslings and orcs, even an Illithid captain. Oh and a certain figurehead. No ships though... except that one sunk by a dragon. I fear that the dragon is the only one who be clothed in paint.  For meself, the best I can do is an eyepatch.
